All my cats groom themselves regularly. all my cats graze with their food as I don't do feeding times. biscuits are there all day, they eat as they please.apart from when I'm dishing out a treat from a pouch, then they all sit around waiting for their spoonful.
One scratches the sofa (since he was 10 weeks old, now 7 years...), the others scratch their posts.
I can always find at least two (any two) of them piled up together on the sofa asleep.
No fat ones (I'm quite strict with what they eat), no skinny ones and if I think anything is awry, I'm the first to the vet - I can't drive in saudi as it's illegal for women to, so my husband will get a call to come get me if I can't get a driver soon enough.
I know all my cats inside out and any change in behaviour is noted and dealt with immediately.
As I've stated, I also rescue stray and sick cats, work with a charity vet on a trap neuter return scheme for the strays/ferals, and assist with the compound vet evening surgery. I can administer certain drugs and diagnose certain common conditions.
No, I don't have any letters after my name and I have no intention of doing so in the animal field (I'm currently training to be an IB Maths teacher teaching maths in english in an international german school). So no, none of my knowledge is taught, but it is all several years of cat ownership, throw in with some more recent experiences in the environment/country I now live in.
I have no issue at all with your knowledge, good on your for studying so hard. But I do take offense at you calling me a liar, or being blind to the health of my own cats just because it doesn't concur with your knowledge/study/research. Life is not text book, in any shape or form. I'd quite happily invite you to study my indoor and outdoor cats to see how larger groups of cats can happily live together, but sadly KSA doesn't issue tourists visas... So until then, you can either continue to call me a bullshitting liar, or maybe contemplate the fact that my situation is not what you have so far read about or seen for yourself.
And I am not alone in my situation here - there are plenty of unofficial//cat rescue/crazy cat ladies out here - some with plenty more cats than I deal with every day. Maybe the make up of saudi cats is different to those in the western world. I think so, but then that's not been documented, just what I have experienced first hand.
