Looking for a 5.1 surround sound system

Have £200 available

I need one that would allow me to plug in 2 x optical cables

Just looking for speaker system, not needing player, a remote control would be good too.

Any ideas?

If you want a proper grown up's system then at a very generous 5p under budget

you could do worse then this

Has 4x HDMI inputs so you can connect up DVD/Blu-Ray players, PVRs Sky boxes etc to it and it sucks the audio from the HDMI data stream and chucks the pictures at the telly. And if the telly has ARC you don't need a separate audio feed back from TV to amp as audio can be fed back down the HDMI lead between them.

Plus it has a couple each of Optical and coaxial digital audio inputs for anything else you might want to plug in.

Thanks for the quick reply, I should have stated (will amend)in my original post that I'm also looking for something that can remotely operated.

This was what I was going to purchase but the price shot up £50 when I added the item to my basket.

It comes with a remote control. I installed this system for my daughter. it's excellent value for money.

Yamaha has an excellent reputation for AV amplifier kit.

The advantage of the Yamaha system is it gives you an upgrade path for the speakers in the future, it is also compatible with HD audio from bluray whereas the Logitech system is not.

I'm still none the wiser in whether or not that Yamaha system comes with a remote?? There isn't one shown in the picture or the system info. Like I said though, they can't get one until after Christmas and I was really looking for one to use over the festive period.

It states there is a remote control in Specs/General.

Amazon have it but it's £49 more.

Find a Richer Sounds that has it in stock and ask them to deliver it. I have had a few items delivered that has been 'in store special only' or clearance item.
