Thanks fro this.
![]() Thankfully they didn't push back the release of her new album! I admire her for wanting freedom over the singles she releases and when an album is released. EDIT: The album is now in the top 10 in the US iTunes on pre orders alone and is in the top 100 in the UK! Fantastic achievement for a country album and it looks like Pageant Material will come quite a bit higher than 39 in the chart over here like Same Trailer... did. ![]() I thought that the label criticized "Follow Your Arrow" for its themes and not "Merry Go Round"... |

One thing that I did notice about the article though:
I thought that the label criticized "Follow Your Arrow" for its themes and not "Merry Go Round"... ![]() The video for Biscuits premiered on Buzzfeed today. http://www.buzzfeed.com/kelleydunlap...avy#.caVmK5OVX |

I can see why the label would criticise both of them, I haven't read anything about either of them almost being rejected before this article so you might be right.

Have you heard "Family Is Family"? It's on Spotify. It's wonderful. I love this track already and I'm only half way through the first listen.
Brilliant stuff! Edit: She and her band performed this for the first time on US television last night. - Family Is Family |

The whole of the new album is on the internet.
Hope I'm not breaching the rules by writing that

I'm going to avoid downloading it in case I get a virus. I'll definitely be buying it when it comes out though.
![]() I can't wait either for the psychical copy to be grasped by my mits next Monday ![]() It sounds so old skool, I love how Kacey embrace es proper country instruments such as the steel guitar which seems to be disappearing in today's "country" ....there's some fab witty one liners on several songs as well ;p |

I'm delighted that I noticed this thread again, as I had no idea that a new album was imminent. Just pre-ordered. Can't wait till Monday. (Not very often I say that)!!

I thought that it might have been the track of the same name that was used in Nashville but it isn't. It turns out that the song used in the show was written by somebody else.

I've ordered my copy!
It's pending dispatch at the moment. I'm really hoping that it arrives on release day. I've ordered from Wow HD. |

So excited to get my copy of Pageant Material! Jeremy Vine played High Time on Radio 2 a little while ago which was a nice surprise (wasn't expecting to hear any other tracks than Biscuits until tomorrow!).

I am dying for her to tour the UK with this. I feel like Cup of Tea and High Time were even better live on the last tour than they are on the record. Can't begin to imagine how good the best album tracks (Somebody to Love, Pageant Material, Fine) are going to sound live.

I really like High Time. I saw her perform it in London last year and it was definitely a highlight. I'm giving this album a listen on Spotify as my copy of the album is "back-ordered"...I don't know how long it's going to take to be dispatched. I'm annoyed about that to be honest. I don't see how they can be waiting for it to come back in when it only came out today. They'd have got their copies to sell last week. ![]() Quote:

There have been some behind-the-scenes videos during the making of the album being posted on YouTube. Here are some of them:
Fine This Town Dime Store Cowgirl Pageant Material Somebody To Love Biscuits Family Is Family I love seeing the writing and producing process. ![]() I didn't realise that "Fine" was an older track. it's wonderfully vulnerable. It's rare that I cry but I teared up listening to that.

It's interesting that Kacey made the link between the sound of "This Town" and "Ode To Billie Joe" as I saw a similarity from the first listen. |

Thanks for these, they're all great to watch. I don't usually take to the slower songs straight away on an album but "Fine", "Late To The Party" and "Somebody To Love" are three of my favourites at the moment.

I noticed the similarities between "This Town" and "Ode To Billie Joe" too. Maybe she's getting that out of the way before people start comparing the two songs. I love the track with Willie Nelson too. I've never listened to his music before but I've become aware of the fact that "Are You Sure" is one of his songs. I think that the duet is organic given that they toured together recently. I always prefer it when collaborations come from actually knowing someone for a while as opposed to recording vocals separately having never met each other.

I keep crying when listening to "Fine" today. It's been a weird day. I'll probably be able to listen to it without crying tomorrow

I need to listen to more Willie Nelson, I'm ashamed to say I barely know his music. I love the song too, there aren't any songs on the album I don't like.

Pageant Material just charted at #11 here, which is fantastic for a country album! It's a shame it just missed out on top 10 but it shows how much she's grown since STDP got to #39.
I know chart positions aren't everything and they don't bother me too much but it's great to see a popular country album here! I can only think of Lady Antebellum that have achieved as much success out of the big American acts when it comes to the charts in recent years? |
