Ex strictly celebs' careers

Just wondered how many celebs have seen their careers improved due to their strictly experience?

Robbie Savage, seems to have gained increased popularity. On every sporting show going.

I caught this piece with him actually singing a Bee Gee's number. Many do say he's the 4th Bee Gee

Jill Halfpenny went on to do Chicago (I think or something on the West End)

Kara Tointon has done theatre work (not sure if they were West End or not tho but she has def done a few)

good shout.

I guess with football, it's just so high profile and mr Savage fits the bill regards being something of a marmite figure. Love him or loathe him, he stimulates debate

I think that Philip Clive Roderick "Tuffers" Tufnell is a celeb that has done quite well out of the exposure. he's turned up on all sorts of non-cricket programmes since (and good for him).

Kara, as mentioned above, has done lots of theatre. But also most recently a film, Last Passenger (co-starring with Dougray Scott).

I don't think some of the celebs jobs post Strictly would necessarily have anything to do with the show itself though (if remaining within the same trade), as getting them would prob just be a natural progression in their career anyway, i.e. when Matt Diangelo did Hustle (BBC) which I presume came about just because it was a gig he managed to secure as he was seen by the producers as right for the role, regadless of his stint on Strictly. He'd no doubt also not got jobs post Strictly, and Strictly prob had little or no bearing on those outcomes.

I also doubt sports people would have mainly got their presenting jobs (or increased presenting role, if already in one) due to appearing on Strictly. Usually sports people, like Denise Lewis and Colin jackson commonly get their jobs because they were either seen as a high profile sports persons beforehand (i.e. being a Captain, wining lots of international caps, scoring many tries, or being in so many final stages of a tournament, etc) or, even moreso, earnt their right to give informed opinions (of say being at the top of the sport) due to be decorated athletes and therefore their insight is deemed as very valuble when trying to educate and discuss issues relating to sporting disciplines/events or the behind the scenes process, because of their expertise. Sure, maybe some get jobs because they are personalities and, despite not winning much, or anything, get the gigs becasue they're watchable.

Sure, I think the likes of Tom Chambers benifited from being in Strictly when he got afterwards got his gig in Top Hat, as doing Ballroom dancing for however many weeks on Strictly and having a Pro hammering things into you nearly everyday of the week must have been a welcome piece of info for the producers to know about (even see themselves on tv) when coming to decide if he'd be right for the part.

I think it might be fair to say Tom Chambers got the Top Hat gig because of it?
