When using the iplayer app on the HDR-2000 how can I control the viewing position?

I was watching a Top Gear program on it last night and went to rewind to catch something I had just missed. It skipped back about 10 minutes!

I tried to skip forward again but it then took me to further on in the program. How can I get finer control over fast forward and rewinding?

AFAIK you can't. What you saw is the way it works: FF skips forward 10 minutes, RWD skips back 10 minutes. The actual skip buttons don't do anything.

(That's viewing iPlayer in HD, I can't remember whether SD is different.)
