Best 7" Tablet?
My iPad 3 is lonely.
It wants a little companion. So, I shall buy it a mini tablet. But which one? For surfing, face to face contact, good camera, storing notes mainly. Money no particular problem but would prefer the cheaper range. |

Normally I'd suggest the Hudl (same spec as the original Nexus 7, much lower price especially if you have Clubcard vouchers available as they have twice their face value off a Hudl).
But if you've already got a number of iOS apps, perhaps you'd prefer to stick with Apple rather than to move to Android??? |

I would also say the Nexus 7. I have the 2012 version of the Nexus 7.

The quakity of the screen on the Nexus 7 surpasses the iPads and matches the new kindle. But the 7 winning is all down to the wider technical specification.
However it is worth noting that the Nexus 8 is out now, at least in the US. This time it as the moniker "LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition", no doubt to try and give the LG brand some missing leverage. |

I agree. My experience with Android has been buggy to say the least with screen lag etc. I now own an iPad Mini and it's brilliant. The iOS apps are more stable than Android.

Might be worth going with whatever platform your Phone has, then you can sync apps.

Thanks for replies.
As I want to avoid sibling rivalry, the mini iPad is out. I shall probably go for the cheapo HUDL. When, of course, Tescos can keep up with demand! Perhaps I should have asked best cheapo. Most friends agree about the Nexus 7 being excellent, though.

Disagree there - both iOS and Android apps can be unstable. Comes down to the developer. I've had problem apps on Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Blackberry.
I'm currently finding more app crashes on iOS, but thats primarily facebook and theres a possibility that iOS 7 pushes the iPhone 4S way too hard (I've had UI glitches on there that are mildly hilarious - just glad its not my primary phone). |

This, totally.

My iPhone 4S was fine before the update but it's really crap now with all the stuttering, freezing and lagging. It seems to be a launcher issue with mine and if it was an android I'd simply try other ones but being iOS of course - not an option. |
