Since you watched it, you know she said it as a result of the ridiculous accusations of jealousy aimed at her and the others. That you find that 'umm, interesting' is 'umm, interesting'. But, alas, it doesn't mean the accusations of jealousy are any truer that they were before, if that's what you're wishfully thinking.

Isn't it exactly what you would expect someone to say in the circumstances?

Well, by explaining her point in a much more adult way than saying I'd much rather be me than her.

I'd expect that from a primary school kid

Yep that was a typical thing for Annabel to say. Very unpleasant person. Shame as I initially found her funny until we saw that dark side of her.

Thought it was funny tonight when they had Annabel saying that Amy didn't do anything in there only for the programme to cut to the clip of her telling Amy it was her turn to wash up only to be told that she just did it the night before. Doh! Annabel looking rather stupid there by putting across her rather inaccurate story

Annabel is a ghastly old troll, used to be a model so hates young girls who have the looks that she used to trade off. Horrible to see such spiteful bitterness. I would much rather be Amy thanks.

Really? I don't particularly like either of them, but I'd say Annabel is better-looking than Amy.

Probably not like a Year 2 school pupil. Surprised I didn't here any "I know you are, but what am I?". Amy wanted to talk calmly and the others (as always) responded as a mix of school pupils and banshees.

I don't know who said it (I only saw 10 mins of the coming out show if it was on there?) but it always comes across as "I'm jealous of you, I know other people will be aware of this and say that I'm jealous of you, so I am going to make a point out of NOT being jealous and saying I'd rather be me than you".

Like... it doesn't sound like something someone who genuinely didn't care either way would say, does it? It wouldn't even enter my head to say about someone - "well, I'd rather be ME than YOU! SO THERE!"

In almost 23 years, it's not something that has ever entered my head, let alone come out of my mouth.

It's like those people that comment on DS articles saying "who cares? I don't".

...but by the very act of clicking the article, scrolling down the page, clicking inside the comment box, typing a comment and hitting submit... it comes across like if anyone cares, it's them.

That's how I "understand" comments like the one in this thread title. By making a specific point about how you'd rather be yourself and not someone else, it comes across the opposite way around.

It'd be better to say nothing at all.

I can't understand why anyone would think the question worth asking, let alone starting a whole thread with. Annabel comes out of the house and finds the internet is full of jeers about her being jealous. She is asked, on camera, what she thinks of those allegations. She gives a simple answer, which is presumably true; she is obviously very close to her daughter and very happy in a new relationship, and people in those circumstances tend not to wish away their lives.

Yeah because Annabelle is so much cooler and better than Amy is. I bet Amy really wishes she could be Annabelle!

No 21 year old wants to be 54 with a disabled child. But here's the relevant thing: no 54 year old wants to undo her children and her life so far and swap with a 21 year old. I am of Annabel's generation, not Amy's, and I promise you that, although it would be lovely to be slim and fit again, I would not swap what I have now for anything in the world. No mother would.

Really ?
You think a hagard old woman of 52 with weight issues is better looking than a 22 year old, clearly stunning looking beauty queen with a voluptuous 100% figure ?

I know what your saying, it's just Annabelle made it seem that she's a better person than Amy is, and who would want to be Amy anyway? Thats the impression I got.

Well, I wouldn't desribe them in those terms because that's not how I see them but, overall, yes, I think Annabel is probably the better-looking of the two, even though she is a little too thin for my tastes.

But jealousy doesn't mean you want to be the other person. So however true it is that Annabel would rather be herself than Amy, it doesn't mean she can't be jealous.

And she wasn't asked on camera about jealousy. Annabel was talking about why they (supposedly) had a problem with Amy and then said "I know it looks like I'm being bitchy and maybe I'm jealous of her looks, or something."

Maybe she was asked off camera. Who knows?
