Er I'm starting to feel a bit..accused here

I saw evidence of jealousy on Annabel's part,much more on Lucy's part but obviously there is no way of knowing for sure..

I don't understand why this is such a big deal regarding posters such as yourself like being jealous of a girls looks is the worst thing in the world

If people want to think I'm jealous of Amy it makes no odds to me(I was accused of being jealous of Lucy once so at least that accusation is more realistic!)

I think she has integrity and hence the comment?

I'm also sick to death of jealousy arguments.

If you want to think i'm insecure thats entirely up to you,I have insecure moments as does everyone and I will happily admit it It's called being human

Just because i'm not jealous of Amy doesn't mean I haven't openly admitted being jealous in the past.it is nothing to be ashamed of.

And frankly,anyone reading would probably not consider me to be the one that is being insecure. Nor me that was being offensive.

My feeling about Amy, might be affected a bit by being in a similar position.

The lady (and I use the term loosely) doth protest too much. Spiteful, bitter and jealous sum her up to a tee. Such a childish and unnecessary comment - she needs to grow up.

And it appears to me Rhumba that you object to the accusation of being envious with staggering outrage. Why is that?

Annabel used to be a model so she will be used to being pre occupied with looks. Ditto lucy not a model per se but did plenty of racy lads mag shoots had surgery etc.

These two in particular may be envious of Amy due to the importance of looks in THEIR lives, It really is not beyond the realms of plausibility the way you suggest.

I have seriously racked my brain trying to remember who's looks I've ever been "jealous" of. I really haven't! That's perhaps because I am secure in myself? My height at 6 foot from 14 years old was something for others to mock and was painful, but I've had the last laugh, if you like, where that's concerned ! I can however truly admire beauty in men and women without wanting it for myself. I've never found life to resemble a beauty competition and I'm sure the majority of people feel the same way.

Kitty, it's FRUSTRATION, that you just can't understand how ANYBODY can not be jealous of Amy.

And it is insulting, but I can't take you seriously, so I'm not going to get my knickers in a twist.

First, jealously is not automatic. Some people have this nature I suppose.

Second, it's a way of looking at things perhaps. Beauty is not the most important thing for everyone.

And finally, she may not feel it at all because she is perfectly confident of how she looks.

Why must everyone be so insecure?

My eighteen year old thinks that Annabel is STILL more beautiful than Amy.

Because her expressions, her wit and spontaneous vivacity make her more so.

I haven't been able to think of a female celebrity I'm jealous of either because jealous has a sort of 'grr' quality which doesn't really apply to me thinking Gwyneth Paltrow has lovely hair

But Anne these 'famous women' showed signs of jealousy and resentment,no one is saying YOU did or have.

Rhumba,I have been called a few things personally which I have accepted I think in good grace.

Other posters agree with my viewpoint and yet I don't see you or your friends being so outraged with them.

It is MY opinion and it is not baseless,I am not a stupid individual and it is based on things I have SEEN.

If the female camp mates had not isolated Amy or spoken so harshly of her I would not think they were jealous!

The difference here is that Annabelle 'fell into' modelling. She never set out to be one. Amy on the other hand has been 'empowered' by her doting, short-sighted Daddy - and now feels it her due that she IS the prettiest in all the land. (She isn't by a long shot. I saw half a dozen prettier girls in my high street this morning, and that was with their faces all pinched with the cold )

Sorry but I don't see any evidence at all of jealousy. I see things as you do from my personal perspective. Amy is selfish, is lazy , is a liar. The opinion shared by most of her campmates. As a Mother and a Grandmother of 7 girls in total I would be ashamed if any of them had behaved the way she did.I'm also so pleased that my teenage grandchildren think she is all of the above. I also found her father very immature , strange and believe it's only about how he can exploit her next for the money.

I too think Amy was selfish on occasion.

Ignore those giving you a hard time: you're entitled to your opinion as they are to theirs...you shouldn't have to spend an eternity trying to justify them. I notice the same old posters trying it on time and time again. So long as you remain within forum rules, it's entirely their problem they have a hard time with your opinions, not yours....
