Ha, it's funny you should link to a post that I happened to later substitute with an alternative post! I shall take this opportunity to say what I didn't like about this original reply and why I later replied to the post again!

I think my original reply (ironically to someone anti-Amy) sounded more pro-Amy than I actually am. Although I came up with a *potentially* plausible theory for Amy using 'they', if I'm honest I don't know whether I actually believe it! I can't rule it out as a *theory*, but I don't particularly consider myself as a pro-Amy person. I was challenged to explain how a particular comment could be explained away, and I rose to it lol, but I later felt a little frustrated that I'd ended up supporting Amy over something that I'd probably agree was likely intended to be understood to be plural 'they' rather than singular.

Which is why I prefer my second response to patsylimerick which focused my answer back to the topic I was actually debating!

That's all I really want to say. I think I've debated this long enough! The discussion seems to be winding down now at last anyway!

To be fair to them (I exclude myself as that was my first post since way back on page 20 lol

) it has veered off topic a few times. Without all that it'd probably "only" be on page twenty-something

Still, much as the discussion has been rather lengthy, I think people can discuss what they want, when they want, without being told they should "get out more".

Especially in the middle of winter lol. Stay in more, I say!

Unfortunately there are some big egos around who like to think it's only their opinions that matter and if you dare to think otherwise they try and beat you into submission and it can end up getting a tad personal, (I'm not referring to you Fairy btw). I like to look at both sides of events.

It's a shame, what should be a good debate can tend to turn a tad ugly.

This series of IAC became tainted with the storyline. I'd have preferred to see them having a bit more fun without all the drama.
