Hyperbole.

It can be bullying only if it is FAR more serious than a bit of bitching, and there is some identifiable intimidation and name calling to her face.

Otherwise my moaning about my sister to my Mum a bit sometimes, is 'part of bullying, perhaps'.

I think that's on roughly the right lines, but Mo's reaction was considerably stronger than a "that's very odd", and I don't think she was thinking of fanbase votes at the time. She was flabbergasted and outraged that viewers might like someone she saw as unworthy to even be in there with proper celebrities.

They should be media-experienced enough to know that tabloid articles needn't be taken so seriously; and then they might have reflected on some of their own unpleasant behaviour rather than indulging in more of it.
