Well she might have meant it as a compliment. She was not a smooth talker. But it was a bit ham-fisted if so. The time to tell someone that they look better without makeup is when they have no make up on, not when they have finally slapped the lot on after three weeks of enforced minimalism.

If she has met ladies like Isabella Rossellini why she would object to Amy's 'genteel' nature as she did in her eviction interview as if it was an off putting trait. She wouldn't think Amy particularly posh either..!

Don't get me wrong. I think that Mo is an unlikeable hard faced character, but I really didn't take it as anything other than a compliment on Amy's natural beauty, regardless of how much make up she was wearing at the time.

I think what Mo was being, in her own gruff and inarticulate way, was wry. As in, 'Here you are, after all your fuss over your makeup and the drama it caused, and all for nothing since you look much better without it.'

That's what I got from it. She wasn't being directly rude or directly complimentary, just wry with a dash of impatience at all the fuss it has caused.

That's how I read it. I'm not sure what she was supposed to say to her ...........she was simply being Mo.

Of course it makes sense. IR mucked in and integrated well with Mo and Gary's family. Mo liked her for that.

It seems clear to me that Mo can spot a fake wannabee a mile away.

Maybe the fact that Mo has met some stunningly beautiful, talented, classy women through Gary and they've all been lovely, down to earth people who integrated themselves well with the family means she doesn't really have much time for someone she sees as having ideas above their station.

I'm not sure that I agree with the comments on this thread;after all when Mo was interviewed just after she came out,she said that she was going to be a nicer person,so you lot must be wrong.
