Hi,

I'm after getting the wife one of the above for Christmas but am not sure which one is better & if they came out at the same time.

Any help would be appreciated as i want to get her the latest one with the higher spec..

Thanks

5S had thr better spec with fingerprint reader, faster processor, better camera, slo mo video and more.
5C is basically a 5 with a coloured back cover

If the 5C was another £50 cheaper then I maybe would have said that, but for the extra things you get on a 5S, £70 is worth it.

I'd also recommend the iPhone 5S over the iPhone 5C.

When iOS 8 is released to the public next year in terms of hardware it'll perform better in the long run over the iPhone 5C.

I have seen these for £400 now, for that money I don't think the 5s is worth the extra unless you really want to scan your finger.

IPhone 5s it looks like an iPhone and for the difference in price. the extras you get like increased low light performance, bigger battery, faster processor and fingerprint which according to a friend saves him a lot of time with not just unlock but various other things as well.

5S has a faster processor and better camera as well...and looks better!

As so often pointed out on here looks are subjective.

Slightly better camera yes, faster cpu yes but on iOS less relevant as the 5 runs it fine given its demands. So that costs you £150 more! As I said not sure if it is worth that amount extra.

I suppose there is a lever of future proofing with the 5S if you plan to keep it a while as iOS 8 is likely to run better on it than it would the 5C.

Listen I'm no fan of the 5c at all but for a saving of 27% of so over the 5s it has to be considered, given the relatively small differences I think.

Obviously it comes down to the *user but I would think about it and still go with the 5S even with the price difference.

*Other users may vary

I suppose you could argue that even £400 is a massive over price for the 5c, so if your going to be reamed you may as well go the whole hog.

Exactly!

IMO you would be made to get the 5C over the 5S or a 5.

I would 2nd this.

The 5S is going to be a lot more future proof than the 5C (especially when the software takes full advantage of the 64 bit CPU).
