What about the humour vacuum that Jon leaves?

I did like the dialogue that followed Brooker's exit - along the lines of

Carr: Don't worry The Last Leg is on next.
Widdecombe: Shit!
Richardson: I wouldn't say it's shit even if it isn't that good.

I enjoyed seeing Jon back. Maybe part of it is that it's 8 Out of 10 Cats and the three of them are supposed to be the regulars.

I thought Jimmy's gag at the start was good as well "Jon's missed the last few shows - don't worry, we didn't notice either"

I caught up with it last night and I really enjoyed it! It was nice seeing Jon back and he seemed very happy which was nice. 😊

People like a conspiracy theory. I'm sure Sean and Jon get on. As well as doing Cats together for a number of years, they also did a show where they travelled to Ameica together. They wouldn't do that if they didn't get on.

Sean seems to have weeks when he is really into it and weeks when he is quiet. They film so many of these shows its no wonder he isn't on fire for all of them

They also film two the same evening and start filming the second one at around 9pm, while comedians are used to working at nights I imagine if you had a bad night's sleep the night before and have just filmed a show it's difficult to be lively for the 2nd show.

Last in the series tonight apparently.

Sean and Greg Davies against Jon and Holly Walsh.

Vic Reeves in dictionary corner.

Would have liked to have seen more Lee Mack in this series. Never fails to make me laugh when he's on.

Just have to make do with the watered down WILTY beforehand I suppose.

It's also very much Sean's character that he doesn't give a monkeys. I think some people on here take the personas too seriously.

Dreadful man. Gag robot.

....

Does this lengthy 17 week run mean it's a long wait before the next series? Anyone in the know, know?

Seems a waste having Vic Reeves in Dictionary Corner when Holly Walsh is on the show and has been brilliant in Dictionary Corner on previous shows.

All of the filmed episodes have been broadcast, apart from the one being shown tonight. The first one in this series was actually filmed all the way back in December 2014 and was filmed on the same day as the last episode of the previous series.

Possibly the next one will be a Christmas special?

"Well I was definitely in a church" is the first time Jimmy Carr has ever made me laugh.

Holly Walsh. Urgh. Annoying doesn't cover it.

Can't believe Susie Dent used "literally" in her word of the day story.

This has been a cracking episode. Lots of laugh out loud moments.

Vic's egg magic Greg's Eubank impression again Jimmy has been on top form with his retorts tonight

Didn't see last week's but watching tonight's. Jon just drains the fun out of it for me. Bad end to the series.

Liked it when Jimmy said "I think it's fair to say Vic Reeves' amazing success is down to two things, Bob and Mortimer" it's so true.

Thought Greg was just regurgitating old material with his Chris Eubank impressions but was surprised when the man himself appeared and quite enjoyed seeing Greg squirm with awkwardness.

Enjoyed the show overall and on a side note about the game itself, I think Sean has hugely improved over this series, especially with the word games.

Men in their 40s/50s behaving like silly 14 year old boys. There were some of the worst offenders on tonight ...Greg Lock and Sean Davis. Their "quirky" crap I found boring/jejune 25 years ago when I was 14 and the "cool kids" were imitating Reeves and Mortimer the next day.
Dirty puerlie joke? Quick cut to Susie laughing.
I only watch for the conundrum.

Yet you watched the whole show

You sound fun at parties. Embrace your inner child, if it is still there

Greg Lock and Sean Davis what do you think about Rachel Dent and Susie Riley?

Perhaps you should stick with the standard version of Countdown, humour doesn't seem to be your thing.

Great episode, really funny. Vic's stuff was very funny and the look on Greg's face when the real Chris Eubank came out was brilliant!
