Loved Kathy Burke tonight This show always makes me giggle!
I find it odd the fuss people make of her. It's like she's not even white.

Liked the conund-rum though!

15 mins in and the game hasn't started.
But it's a comedy show primarily, not a game. Anyway this happens on other shows like HIGNFY. If the intros are funnier than the some of the countdown games they'll use more of that.

I haven't seen all the recent shows, but thought this one was good enough. Joe Wilkinson's participation seemed rather pointless though, compared to how anarchic he used to be.

What about:
8 Out Of 10 Cats Does
...The Chase
...Mastermind
...Catchphrase
...Eggheads

any other quiz show combinations, you think they should try?

Or is it because both shows are on Channel 4 they've stuck to "8 out of 10 does Countdown".

I thought that as well - I mean, i quite enjoyed the fact he just sat there and kept out of the way but it did seem rather weird.

What's that got to do with being white?

Maybe it's just an opinion. I think she's great

I think it's just because it was part of the mash-up event. I suppose they could try a one-off 8 Out Of 10 Cats does Million Pound Drop for charity of something

Poor Sean, dragged on to this show against his will.
If he doesn't enjoy it, get Lee Mack back. Lee, at least, seems like he does kind of enjoy doing it.

oh please yes His ep was like a breath of fresh air. Maybe they should do a spin-off kinda show which keeps Mr Carr (Jimmy/Alan?) as host but as different guest players other than Sean and that other guy.

I think you can tell that it's almost run it's course now that Jon isn't even playing properly because 8 out of 10 times he wins pretty easily.

The game took a back seat last night.

I'm a Lee Mack fan - top performer on wilty.

But also big Sean Lock fan - he is much underrated as a stand up as well. I don't like some of the others at all - the two bearded unfunny twerps are just depressing.

I can remember when Sean seemed like the most easy going guy in the country..

It would be a sad day if he left the show.

They mashed up that with something else. Can't remember off the top of my head though.

It's not really 8 Out of 10 Cats though without Lock as he is currently a regular team captain.

What about Countdown Crossover?
They could do a couple of shows with the WILTY regulars, or Mock the Week.
QI? HIGNFY?
or just general. Countdown Crossover Chat Show special with Ross, Norton, Carr etc.

8 Out of 10 Cats does Catchphrase. The regular version is usually full of innuendo, I can imagine what Carr's mind would come up with, haha.

Clearly you didn't consider the possibility that it wasn't "patronising bullshine" at all. That they really did think she's wonderful. She is, after all, a well respected actress, writer and director. Not to mention being a very funny comedian. So quite possibly really is wonderful in some peoples' judgement.

Yes. Of course she is.

Pull the other one.

Did anyone else notice the editing error? They went to a shot of Jon and Josh early on which showed the rum dispenser in view before Jon had brought it out as his 'mascot'.

Maybe that's their excuse for not putting it onto 4od..
