I didn't mind that Kearns bloke, but I didn't get the point of the wig and false teeth.

Obviously he wants to keep his "characters" separate from his own persona, but he just came across like a poor man's Angelos Epithemiou (which was a pretty weak comedy character in itself).

I saw Natasia Demetriou on that ITV2 sketch show @elevenish a few times, and she was one of the better performers out of a very weak bunch. But she's obviously better at scripted and sketch comedy rather than this sort of panel comedy where you've got to be able to think on your feet. Her schtick didn't translate.

Potentially another weak Dictionary Corner looms. Rest excellent up until now.

I've mixed feelings about Rachel's dress this week. It's way too long - but it does brilliantly accentuate the modern miracle of nature that is her arse. That thing should be given listed status or something...

What the hell was that? Does he think he's funny singing words that come up on a screen. Pathetic.

Sean doing a better Dictionary Corner than the two chumps in Dictionary Corner.

I'd hate to see what the ones who didn't make the cut were like!

Why does it take 20 mins before the game actually starts?

Because there's no more comedy to be drawn from the actual game. There's only so many times you can pretend to not know the rules.

They have to fill the whole hour, so just having them start off and go straight in to the game wouldn't really work.

Have to chuckle at the folks who still complain when the game takes a back seat to the comedy. It is primarily a comedy show not a game show, the countdown format is just an easy hook to hang the comedy around. If you want to watch the game being played then the normal countdown is on every day of the week.

I wouldn't mind watching Celebrity Countdown, with the game being played properly. (Although Cats Countdown does seem to enforce the rules when it comes to scoring.)

It works with Mastermind, even if admittedly they have to scrape the barrel when it comes to actual celebrities.

Count me in as well. I thought they were funny as a deliberately awkward duo. I mean if it made Sean and John laugh they must be doing something right.

The thing with those acts where their awkwardness is the single joke, is that after the first minute or so of seeing them you realise they have nothing else to offer.

The actual content of what they could produce was non-existent. I guess they'll always be able to say they got a spot on that comedy countdown show once, back in 2016. Useful pub conversation for them in the future.

Well, just because they were virtually unknown to most of us doesn't mean they aren't successful elsewhere. 27 million views on YouTube apparently.

So, (somewhat aptly) many cats are more famous than them then...

I blame James Acaster. But then I blame him for most things.

Claudia Winkleman filling in for Sean this week with Johnny Vegas against Jon and Reginald D. Hunter. Sarah Pascoe in dictionary corner.

Another disastrous edition looms. Winkle's mind-bendingly abysmal stint standing in for Rachel should've put paid to any future appearances in ANY capacity and I suppose Vegas will be trotting out the usual tired old schtick. Reg and Sara are OK but coming hard on the heels of Kearns and those two chumps last week it seems the air/enthusiasm is slowly going out of this.

Time for a mercy killing?

Sara Pascoe gets on my nerves trying to be so bloomin' right on all the time, and she has a whiff of Fay Ripley about her who I cannot stand.

Neither Vegas or Hunter cover themselves with glory on panel shows.

Surely it is time to put this to bed.

Technically that's not true. If the other three each got a point then Jon would only need two points to win and not four.

I think Jon would like this post.
