Well.

I don't dispise the gentleman but neither do I like him anymore, lets put it that way. I had decided in my head he was very much a left wing liberal nice guy who was also witty and intelligent.

He may well be left wing still,I don't know tbh,but he came across as cruel, bitchy and impatient. And there was no genuine wit on display either,he only mocked other people. And THAT bikini thing mocking glamour girls getting airtime just for having a shower i.e Myleene Klass was cringeworthy.”

Thats what I meant to say

I liked the way he stuck up for Lucy and Rebecca, and I was also pleased to see him say that he did not regret going into camp as it had made him face up to being afraid. Not just of creepy crawlies but other stuff. He was now able to acknowledge publicly (instead of hiding behind jokey anti children comments) that he and his wife are going through IVF.

He may not have been everyone's cup of tea but I like him and thought him brave to do the show.

Shame, as others have said, that viewers were not given a "proper" show to watch and instead fake drama over nothing.”

BIB He said about them trying for a baby ( ivf) quite a while ago, long before he went in the jungle.

That's why I couldn't understand his harping on so negative about children like he does

On his show he calls parents 'breeders' and kids 'little polluters' or 'brats'..

So I was a tad shocked about him saying about trying for a baby. He has never waivered from declaring he can't stand kids!!

Kitty my best friend used to act the same way about children but it turned out it was because for years. She had been trying and couldn't become pregnant it was all a bit if a smoke screen to cover her hurt. I'm glad to say 15 yrs later she had a little boy

Maybe it's a self defence mechanism ...

To think that the his "bikini" episode had been planned by him and his wife makes it even more ' unfunny ' tbh.
If it had been a spur of the moment thing and he'd borrowed a bikini off one of the women in the camp it "may" have been funny .

Well, I quite liked "Matthew's Moment" under the waterfall and him prancing around camp in his bikini afterwards

Yes I think some of us have a modicum of humour than goodness.

I've never been a huge fan of his but never actively disliked him. I was in no way shocked by anything he did in the jungle. I do think he is honest and has some integrity so I have no reason to disbelieve nim when he said that the actual conflicts in there were very few and very short lived - he was amazed that they'd made up so much of the high light show.
I am also very aware that he has made a point of re iterating how badly Rebecca and Lucy were portrayed. He has nothing to gain in sticking his neck out for them and it is very much as I imagined.

I am not fool enough to think that reality shows are always an absolute true reflection of what really goes on. I realise that 'drama' is created around storylines and that we are manipulated.

Personally I really think this time a line was crossed and we were fed a load of b●●●ocks.

But we only learnt that after ... I thought it was very funny
Also Steve Davis in the fashion show ... Although itv didn't show it for some reason

Quite frankly though - I'd rather have boorish than boring any day of the week! And apart from Steve and Matthew everyone else in there (some of them admittedly 'very nice') were so dreadfully boring.

The fact that it was planned and his wife was a party to it made me like it even more. It proves that he went in there firmly tongue-in-cheek and didn't care if he looked a prat in the meantime. I'm a fan of Matthew and he did make a tit of himself - but it was fun and a bit of blessed relief from the tedium that we were being fed up until that time.

I really hope he and Amelia are fortunate to have the baby that they so want. Those guys who have most doubts about themselves usually end up brilliant dads.

I wish them well, they seem a very devoted couple. He's had his fair share of heartache.

Horrible attention grabbing ,and I agree, extremely weird that his wife was party to it. He also 'performed' it in a way the girls who did it never did .Rubbing his hands inside the bra and rolling his eyes in orgasmic fashion made him look disgusting and was not something actual females did.
Yes, I've heard some of the things he calls parents and children---very edgy and right on (not) . But of course those epithets won't apply to him or his offspring , and that sums him up as a hypocrite.

I appreciate not everyone would find it funny but can't see it as being disgusting or weird. What I do find as uncomfortable viewing is the way a father treats his 21 yr old daughter now that did make me cringe but that's just my opinion

I found that very creepy. One of those comments made on the article hit the nail right on the head. Obviously though - I'm sure some people think that behaviour is normal.

I found this bit particularly odd "And he joked shots of his daughter seductively taking a shower in her bikini had got “a lot of fathers winking at me”."

I think most dads would have decked someone who did that!

Aww I am glad x

Actually I read about Matthew today and after his nephew passed away it made him realise life is too short and he wanted a family with his wife.

You're just up the road from me btw,I reside in South Cymru also
