In the modern era over the last few years. I am assuming they would have probably have struggled to get beyond about half way

No. They don't dislike girls. It's cause the girls haven't been good last two years.

Modern era? How old do you think this show is?

I'm sure they'd both do well. Little Mix did fine and they were all girls (Probably at more of a disadvantage considering their group status)

There's absolutely no reason to think that at all. There's no reason to believe people like Tamera were voted off because of anti-young female bias, as opposed to because she forgot her words a couple of times, didn't appeal to people, people just liked others better and so on.

Who have the liked then since Amelia who came back half way through.

Although I agree that the likes of the talking guitar girl last year and Abi were truely atrocious.

I hope next year they stop using the female category for these alternative acts

Tulisa despite her critics on here won them it with her excellent mentoring.

However young female soloists just dont get the votes anymore

Ella Henderson was robbed! Should have at least made the final

Ella made top 6.
Misha B made 4th.
Tamera made top 5.
Little Mix won.
Rebecca Ferguson came 2nd - with another female in final.

You seem determined to make out like the public hate females, but it's just that the talent has come from boys and overs more the last 2 years.

I agree thats part of my point, the voters just wont vote for female singers in big enough numbers anymore. I suppose voting is also pretty low these days as well

What are you talking about? They do vote for females when they are good.

Ella got tiresome and boring after week 4. She still made 6th for goodness sake.

Rebecca Ferguson was about three years ago now, fifth and sixth is not success

You don't think making the top 5 is successful? Well of course no ****er is gonna have success in your eyes.

This year we have a woman (that's right, a female) as the favourite to win. We have had a GIRL GROUP win. The public obviously vote on talent when there is talented people.

Wait actually......

In 2011 the top 6 acts were.....
Little Mix
Marcus
Amelia
Misha B
Janet
Kitty

Now....how on EARTH does that suggest the public are against females?

Ok then so why are they putting acts through the last two years if they dont think they will get the votes.

The female singers have to pass so many assesments with the voters and have to be exceptional,to have even a chance, where not such judgement exists for the males

You just going to ignore the post about 2011?

Misha B was called out as a bully.
Amelia came back and never stood a chance.
Janet got shit.
Kitty was getting terrible press.
Tamera got awful press.
Hannah was just shouty.
Abi was awful.

Little Mix, not only being female, were a group.

So again, how on earth are you sure the public are against females? You have no facts to back it up that it's because they are female they are getting voted off.

Seems the OP just has the same aversion to boys as he's claiming the public has against girls.

I agree 2011 was the last passable year for females. Amelia was probably the best female vocalist they have had since the Leona, Alexandra days and still couldnt win

However with the press spotlight generally being on the female acts and no press interest in the males. This tends to kill a lot of the female chances these days and directs the voters elsewhere

Amelia couldn't win because she came back in like the top 6 and obviously wasn't going to have a fanbase the size of the other contestants.

Danyl Johnson got possibly the worst ever media attention. Along with Frankie. They females?

OP, do you have any evidence to support your claim that the voters dislike young female singers?... Thought not.

Just another excuse to attack female voters and make out that they are all "jealous".

"The modern era" makes it sound like this programme is about 40 years old!

If the voters dislike young female singers then it's down to them not having enough talent. Does an older female singer figure in the OPs observations because, if it does, how come Sam D is in the final?

Ella was stunning actually.

Can't wait till she's relaunched herself and blows everyone's records away to smithereens.

Before the live shows she was, but after she became samey and boring.

I loved ella,

She went out on the week singing "Your the one that i want" which i thought was her best performance by far from the live shows and rylan got through without being in bottom 2 that week, she was robbed.

I still listen to her singing believe at bootcamp, one of my favourite x factor moments ever.

I guess it seems like a female has to be really outstanding to win (Leona, Alex) but a lot of pretty average males have won. Matt, James, Leon, Steve were not great and if a woman had been as average, they would not have won.

Or maybe they were just the best of a bad bunch the year they won.

Again you confuse talent with public voting.

Ella was by far the most talented that series (coming from a James/Lucy fan), but silly Tulisa did an awful job of mentoring her! Sorry I should say the producers did! They gave her a cheap awful You Got The Love dance routine which looked awkward during her pimp slot! Also talk about manipulation - Ella after her Week 3 pimp slot was never in the 2nd part of the show again! Ella's handling was the pits...and then giving her Bring Me To Life. While the show gave Maloney all the hits. If Ella had sung Total Eclipse of the Heart or Alone - a demo pleasing song she would have wowed everyone. Even more so if she had done Without You or I Will Always Love You.

Tamera too! The way she's been handled by the show, instead of turning her into a fun Cher Lloyd they gave her ballad after ballad! Where's the sense in that? Why call her a Beyonce impersonator in her pimp slot? Why give her Impossible IN THE WRONG KEY???

Sorry but Tamera and Ella were handled HORRIBLY.
