They gave her a cheap awful You Got The Love dance routine which looked awkward during her pimp slot! Also talk about manipulation - Ella after her Week 3 pimp slot was never in the 2nd part of the show again! Ella's handling was the pits...and then giving her Bring Me To Life. While the show gave Maloney all the hits. If Ella had sung Total Eclipse of the Heart or Alone - a demo pleasing song she would have wowed everyone. Even more so if she had done Without You or I Will Always Love You.

Tamera too! The way she's been handled by the show, instead of turning her into a fun Cher Lloyd they gave her ballad after ballad! Where's the sense in that? Why call her a Beyonce impersonator in her pimp slot? Why give her Impossible IN THE WRONG KEY???

Sorry but Tamera and Ella were handled HORRIBLY.”

I find it funny you get annoyed that Ella was never in the second half of the show but don't mention Tamera performing within the last 2 acts for like 5 weeks running. Only once performing in the first handled. Tamera was handled very well in regards to that.

Danyl Johnson got possibly the worst ever media attention. Along with Frankie. They females?”

Amelia was the bookies favourite to win. Then HMV ruined her chances.

They're different contestants in different circumstances. Song choices + running order - it's a combination and the combination was never in favour with either alpha girl.

What's funny is your desperate atttempt to nitpick when I've got an entire argument which you haven't even bothered to comment on (yawn emoticon).

She was the bookies favourite but as soon as she performed she fell right down the charts. When she came back she went to 3rd favourite behind Marcus and Little Mix then fell again after landing bottom 2 with Craig.

Yet she topped the vote twice, especially after that B2 appearance with Craig. Funny how the girls category that year topped the votes for 7/10 weeks. Amelia's Show Must Go On and China in Your Hand were amazing though so I can see why that happened.

Yeah! Amelia's The Show Must Go On was great!

I wish Misha and Amelia both got through to the top 3, Misha deserved it!

Oh my god...we both agreed on something! Amelia and Misha B were amazing!

It's such a shame they've been treated the way they have post-XF because they had talent in bucket loads. And both were incredibly marketable. They were 'ready made pop stars'.

Amelia would have been such a Kelly Clarkson if she had won and had gone down a pop rock route instead of the electropop one... And Misha B would have done much better if it weren't for Louis and Tulisa's outrageous comments that she was a bully during her pimp slot! Amelia, Janet, Sophie and Little Mix all defended her and said she wasn't too but the damage had been already been done at that point as Gary put it.

Can't believe we're agreeing!

You Bring Me Joy was amazing! Wasn't too fussed about the two follow up's though.

Home Run, Do You Think Of Me and Here's To Everything were all great I thought and it's absolutely terrible how badly she has done after the show!

I think if Misha B wasn't called a bully she could of maybe taken the title (or at least made the final) and Amelia would of probably had more chance at the win if she wasn't sent home in week 1!

Amelia's The Show Must Go On and China in Your Hand were superb, and Misha was really great too!

Attitudes seem to have changed over the years since Leona won. The GBP voting, and I will state here predominately female although I have no evidence, seems to have become increasingly more critical of other girls. I said on another thread that I seem to remember Alexandra had to give standout performances just to stay in the competition and it wasn't until Beyonce turned up that the GBP accepted that she really was good. There seems to be much more acceptance of cute little boys whereas talented girls have every fault criticised to the max.
I still think that Leona would have made it because some of the stuff she did on the show was extraordinary, but I think Alex would have gone out earlier and not won the show today!

I'm so fed up with people saying that girls won't like other girls.

Young girls will like other girls if they are NICE but also have some degree of TALENT.

The three girls this year were never going to win. Tamera was good but she is just so easy to dislike. I am well aware of the type of girls who are going to be the typical 'chavvy' mean girl and Tamera fits my stereotype for that. The fact that Hannah spoke like a chav probably didn't help her get any fans. Abi was just completely awful in the live shows.

Last year was a mess up too, the only good one was Ella and she should have got much further. Based on talent, Ella should have been in the final. She was beat by Rylan, Chris and Union J , still find that confusing.

And Ella was nice too! The only thing that got in the way were those song choices. None of which were demo pleasing songs like Maloney's were!

If you're singing a song which 100 people know but only 20% liked the performance of it then you've got 20 people who liked it.

If you've got 20 people who know the song and 50% enjoyed it then you've got 10 people but that's still less because not enough people know the song in the first place and even less would vote if they didn't know it...

Combine that with the Liverpool vote, Menan sob story and me nerves and we have a perfect storm for Ella to overcome...It's all to do with demographics and that's why Ella should have sung Total Eclipse of the Heart/Alone/Without You or some other massive hit ballad like that (in her own way) and she would have nailed it.

Agree....once the media play their part in all this....the females are ultimately doomed!!!it leaves just the GBP to then go in for the kill.....despite the wealth of talent that often proceeds them.....ask Misha and Hannah.

You forget Ella Henderson who will go on to great things. The best singer this show has seen maybe with the exception of Leona. Personally, I rate Ella as the best.

The girls haven't been successful/winners, because none of them have been that great. It says something when the last female winner, Alexandra Burke, won 5 years ago.

Alex and Leona were in a different league to the rest

Leona and Alexandra are fantastically good vocalists and look good too.

There hasn't been another female to match vocally until, I suppose, Sam B.

I think the bias has always been there. Good as they were, it's not like Leona or Alexandra walked it in the voting. Leona came quite close to being knocked out in the semis if I remember correctly.

Alex was mid pack for most of the competition (miles behind Eggnog) and was quite close to bottom 2 once or twice. The beyonce moment turned things around for her - and then there was a bit of an anti Eggnog/please can we have a winner who can actually sing backlash, which Alex benefitted from.

We never got voting percentages for Leona's year, I don't think.

Alex was never a huge vote getter, she was almost bottom 2 a few times and won in the final - because of Beyonce, I think.

If only she had been likeable or talented. Her audition was great, but it soon became apparent that she'd been schooled as far as she could go and only had the one good performance. She really should have gone out earlier.

That's probably true, but I definitely remember some leaks around the semi final with Ray apparently right out in front and Ben and Leona very close.

'Leaks' were never ever reliable back then. The first reliable leak we ever got was Matt and Mary being top 2.

Its just because the jazority of people that vote on this show prefer bland and boring singers like luke and Nicholas, and it will always be the same.

I'd heard neither until quite recently and so don't have the emotional attachment the show delivers. I wouldn't choose to listen to either, they just aren't that good. Ms Lewis is also one of the dullest people I've seen on camera and neither of them is physically attractive; not even close.

You get the same with food tastings or government elections.
