New Samsung smart tv juddering and ghosting
The new previous tv was doing the same and replaced it asap, and now this one is also juddering and ghost lines appear and disappear. Is there a known technical fault with these TVs? Or does anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong? It's a Samsung 6400 46inch.
Thanks in advance. |

By all accounts the F6400 is an excellent TV so unless you have just been plain unlucky, then perhaps you should turn off some if not all of Samsung's proprietary picture processing via the Picture Options and Advanced menus. What ghosting do you see ??
Is it using SMART and internet streaming or watching normal tv ie Freeview ? or watching a DVD through scart leads |

I see it through sky+ but can also see it using smart and internet streaming. I've not watched any DVDs on this telly yet.
You could try a shielded scart , or at least upgrade to a Sky HD and use a shielded hdmi cable. For internet streaming, well this will be based on how fast your internet is. This will give you low quality up to high quality pictures depending on the speed you are streaming at. If you also are watching a Freeview channel that is low quality or low data, this will give a poor picture. However HDMI should give you cracking pictures on HD Channels |

The first thing you should is watch a DVD and a Blu-ray and you should have done this before you started the thread. It's basic troubleshooting to try all available input sources.
What I should have suggested as well is that you check all your cable connections by removing them and then putting them back. Try the connections you changed when you bought the TV first. If that doesn't yield a result then if possible try replacing with spare cables. You can buy a high quality HDMI v1.4 cable for less than £4. I have one from a local retailer and one from Amazon, both of which work admirably with Blu-ray. I just assumed the first TV that was replaced was the same model, Was it? There's usually a local TV guy who doesn't advertise but recommended by word of mouth. If there's one in your neighbourhood, then call him up and see if he can troubleshoot your ghosting problem. As niall implied and from my limited experience, ghosting is usually caused by low signal quality. Your HDMI connection to the DVD player will test that. |
