I do as they are so quick and satisfying especially the ones from M&S.

Chicken Tikka Masala with side pilau rice is prob my fave.

Do you include a cornish pasty as a ready meal? If so I bought one today. It was rank.

Not sure I would include that really but I guess so?

Maybe one a week. I keep them in the freezer and cupboard for those times when I just can't be arsed but feel like having more than a ham sandwich or similar.

Freezer ready meals would usually be curries and rice or chinese meals and rice.
If I spot something on offer that takes my fancy I might get one to stick in the freezer, like a hotpot or similar.

Also Chigaco Town microwave pizzas.

In the cupboards I have dried noodles packs, pot noodles, other snackbox noodle & rice meals. (usually either supermarket own or the ethnic brands - no point in paying over the odds for the major brands imo).

No. Very few. I don't think I have one in around 2 years. I do have packet rice noodles from the Chinese supermarket which I mix eggs, veg and meat with as a high protein convenience snack regularly though, that's as close as I get.

Not the shop bought ones. I batch cook a lot so there is always something in the freezer that I've cooked myself. That's not to put down anyone who eats factory made ones, some of them look very nice. I just prefer food where I know exactly what's gone into them. Call me a food snob if you like.

I used to cook nearly all my own meals but with not being too well I don't have much energy for it these days.

Still do lots of easy things like cottage pie, omelettes and spag bol etc.

But sometimes have a ready meal - most of them are dire really so I try them once and avoid but something like Morrisons 'curry for one' packs are really quite good these days. Much better than they used to be.

I don't think I've had a ready meal in about 10 years, maybe longer

Have them occasionally, nothing wrong with the odd one.

I don't tend to have them anymore, although I have got loads of tinned soup and supernoodles in the cupboard at the moment, and I bought some 'ready meal' vegetables (creamed sprouts, parsnip and parmesan, and bubble and squeak) last week just because it sounded nice.

I used to eat them more, but I really enjoy cooking so I don't bother much anymore. I just get them occasionally if there's something I really like.

I tend to go for the "cook lots, freeze for later" route for most of my ready meals, but this weekend I have really pushed the boat out! We are busy all weekend (says she, sitting at a computer now!)so last night we had bought ready made soup, a baguette and cheese. Tonight we are having a shop bought paella and salad and tomorrow we are having a bought beef and ale pie - but with home grown veggies.

You have no idea how decadent that makes me feel!

If you cook and freeze for later that's not ready meals.
I took the OP to mean "Do you bother cooking?".
I certainly have a supermarket microwave curry/ready meal now and again if we are pressed for time but, on the whole, I prefer to prep and cook and especially like to do so with a curry or a chilli - and not for tons of heat as OH is opposite end of my scale so I try to go for taste and flavour.

My favourite home dish is risotto.
I just enjoy standing and stirring and watching it slowly come together.
And it is so versatile in terms of what main ingredients you want to include - prawns, chicken, ham, mushrooms, corn, veggies etc

I rarely have them as they generally taste so awful. Any ready meal contained minced meat in particular is always best avoided.

I did have a couple of ready meal curries from Waitrose recently that tasted quite nice though

I batch cook and freeze in portions too.

About the only ready meal I buy is a curry as I only have curry about once a month and I wouldn't want to waste valuable freezer space on it in place of something I eat more often. And making one portion isn't worth the bother. So when I fancy it, I get a ready meal or maybe a take away.

Infact I would say that for me a ready meal these days would have to be microwaveable.

Preheating an oven then waiting 40 minutes for a meal to cook is not that convenient in this day and age.

I suppose oven ready meals, especially the fresh ones, would be considered better quality in most cases.

40 mins is no time at all. People watch longer television programmes or films!

Good for them. Not for me as I pointed out in my post.

I haven't had a ready meal for about 2 years. I find them a bit bland really. When I cook for myself I can add the spices and flavours that I like.
I do ocassionally have one of those cartons of covent garden soups (or similar) if I'm really pushed for time but thats it.

I always have the condiments ready for ready meals, pot noodles, cup-a-soups etc.
They always tend to need a little perking up.
