Just read an article on the who news apps saying that not just Day and Time of the Doctor will get a boxset release but the set will also include a Christmas Carol, the doctor the widow and the wardrobe, The snowmen and The Name Of The Doctor it seems a bit mad when all the others are already included in series sets that they would do this the only two I want out of that set will be the day of the doctor and the time of the doctor just let's hope they get their own double feature set aswell.

Would've thought that this would be DotD, NotD, TotD, F(ish) Doctor & AAISAT.

Sounds to me like that article jumped to the wrong conclusion based on a (temp) title.

I hope so I also hope that they I know it may be wishful thinking but include an adventure in space and time in it aswell

Please no. I wanted Day of the Doctor and Time of the Doctor in a boxset, but I already have all the others and really do not want to pay for them again. Hopefully there is no truth to this.

EDIT: Having read a little more, it does seem like a box set called "Time of the Doctor & Other Matt Smith Specials" will be released in January, however the episodes in it have not been confirmed.
I hope its just DotD and TotD, but the "and other Matt Smith Specials" might suggest otherwise.

Although thinking about it I remember. Back in 2009 just before the full David Tennant specials boxset was released they released a box just including the waters of mars and the end of time they may do the same thing again by still releasing the full specials set and an edittional one that just includes the day of the doctor and time of the doctor lets hope they do the same again.

First off I'm glad they are doing a boxset for Matts final stories. I kept looking at Day of the Doctor, but wanted to be sure there was a set before I purchased!

I expected to see Night, Day, Last Day, Time, Five(ish) plus extras (fingers crossed for AAISAT) but to include the other Christmas episodes seems odd (if true).

The rrp of £20.42 for the dvd which usually translates to around £14 on amazon is too cheap to include day of the doctor which is still a current release. I am expecting it to be time of the doctor along with the other 3 matt smith specials-exactly as it says on the tin. Its wishful thinking to expect any of the 50th anniversary stuff to be included at that price.

You would have thought time of the doctor would be released along with 50th stuff not released on day of the doctor dvd and maybe the BBC america retrospective of matt smith. Don't expect things to make sense.

I'm holding out for... I keep almost writing "series eight!" Series seven plus Day of the Doctor plus Time of the Doctor. They must combine them all at some point, surely? The series seven/eight/whatever finale crashes right into Day of the Doctor, it's all one arc. They belong together.

It used to be so straight forward. Christmas special and 13 episodes in a boxset released roundabout November but now its all over the show.

I tried to make a list of episodes I wanted in a Matt Smith Box set but I ended up with a massive list, think I should just get the series boxes set instead...

I can't imagine the previous Christmas specials and Series 7 finale will be on it when they've already been on the Series 6 and 7 DVD sets. It wouldn't make a lick of sense doing that.

Confusing! If this release has 'The Time of the Doctor' and 'The Day of the Doctor' I'll probably hang on for this release as haven't bought the latter yet. But have got the two 'standalone' Matt Christmas Specials already, so...um, no, still confused. I'll await further details!

That is so dumb.

Seriously, why can't it just be on three discs ...

The Day Of The Doctor
The Time Of The Doctor
An Adventure In Space And Time

Along with prequels, behind the scenes stuff, commentaries, minisodes, trailers, The Five Doctors Reboot, Proms 2013 and Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor?

Far more tempting.

Because that would make more sense!!!

Seriously, most people who'll buy it as a boxset will already own series 5-7. The more obvious set would have been 'The End Of The Eleventh' boxset with everything above included (you could understand if AAITAS was left out tbh, as they would want to generate extra sales for it)

Except that there isn't a blu ray of AAISAT,!

I know, it's a real shame it isn't!

This is f***ing bizarre.

I can only assume that this is the equivilant of the "vanilla" release of TotD, and that the 50th/Fall Of The Eleventh boxset (complete with Science Of DW, Proms, AAISAT, Fish Doctors and maybe Ultimate Guide) is still to come.

There's no way that they release two of the most significant episodes of the last few years (Matt's exit and the fiftieth anniversary episode) with so few extras...

You wonder what's going with the DVD department nowadays.

The Boxset has been announced

http://www.doctorwho.tv/whats-new/ar...ents-announced

It is all the Christmas specials of Matt Smith,

so four episodes £13.99 for the DVD and £17.49 for the BD which is not much more than a single film, so even if you have the others they are more a bonus to this christmas special. chances are amazon will be cheaper

Absolutely pointless. why cant we just have a boxset with day, night and time of the doctor aswell as an adventure in time and space. now im going to end up with stuff i already own argh

Does anyone know how I can contact the BBC and complain about this/ask whether they will eventually release a Day of the Doctor + Time of the Doctor boxset?
