When I translate songs I don't do a literal translation and try and fit with the sense. Translation in general in fact.

It is really popular with advertisers. I am guessing something to do with the cicadas at the beginning of the piece.

Not to be muddled with sacadas, which is the AT step in which one partner replaces the footprint of the other really fast, so you get that legs kicking each other out of the way optical illusion.

My AT teacher pronounces Sacadas as Cicadas. So with his Spanish accent he is actually saying "Today class we will be working on our crickets" I can see the Spanish native speakers in the class put their chins to their chests to mask their grins.

Sadly my bubble burst shortly after I posted that. Frankie and Kevin's salsa track was cited and then my expectations dropped completely off a cliff when I saw their training footage. Enjoy the show tonight peeps. I won't see it until later. I am out hosting a Mixed Latin Christmas party. Its aimed at a mixed audience and the idea is to blend normal UK/US party tracks with Latin. Its very light hearted and casual, anything goes, the music is usually Latin pop with a spot of AT, Flamenco and more hard core salsa thrown in. People can dance what ever style they want from shuffling around the handbags to a full on Sevillanas. Focus is on spot not progressive dances for obvious reasons.

Which has got me thinking. Has anyone ever tried or seen tried blending AT with social ballroom? ( ie progressive dances of mixed genres) I am quite happy dancing AT to non AT tracks ( although draw the line at Zorba the Greek ) But I like dancing to jazz especially and have A Tangoed to the odd rock track. I am wondering if it would work to do something similar to the above in a ballroom not a club for mixed styles. By that I mean at any given time people might be on the floor dancing different styles to the same track.

Possible, barking or barking but possible?

Pretty normal at after-wedding dances in the hotel ballroom.
