I have just called again and was greeted by Lukes voice so I hope ITV have not charged me for the first two.

A number should never be withheld is this Simon up to his tricks again. Hopefully this will not affect the overall outcome.

I was genuine, I have not voted since 2008 and was asking if this was the standard answer. I then voted for a 3rd time and got Lukes message something is not right here.

Also why would people ring his number I was only asking if their was a message or if the beeps were what happens all the time.

Glad you got through. This DID happen last year....loads of complaints to Ofcom. I don't vote any more as I do believe its a fix. You won't have been charged for the first two calls.

First I am genuine and secondly your correct only an idiot would phone because I posted this. I was asking if there is normally a message or if the double beep was normal.

I tries voting for him too - for the first couple of minutes after his performance, all I got was a "beep" when I tried to vote but it seems to be working now?

So frustrating as most people who are voting for him will have tries to vote straight after his performance, probably thinking that their vote went through when it hasn't.

Anyone who votes know that the "act" thanks you for their vote, so I doubt it would be anything. What it normally means is the phone lines are busy and you can't get through. It'll happen with all of them, always does.

I didn't know this? A lot of people will vote for the first time in the series as it's the final - these people won't know about this...

There are occasional voters though that only really vote in the final though.

Without the message you then spend less time on the phone and so freeing up some lines. So it could be logical.

It's been like this for years, so unless they've never voted before or haven't voted since like Series 6 or 7, they will know.

I haven't voted since Series 5 and it wasn't me who dialled and voted. What happened then did you not get the actual person was it just some ITV person saying you have voted for etc.?
