Three PAYG 321 sony PS vita
Hi i Posted here because this is more about the sim than the console,
I know three sims work in the vita but that's with a mobile BB top up, Dose any one know if the three PAYG 321 works as i dont want to buy a 30 day X amount of data one because i will hardly use it most of the places i go have wifi, But for example my grandma dose not have the net wont get it either as it has no real use to her, I am on the one plan so can tether but this runs the bat out on my phone a lot quicker so having a sim in it for the od use would be better thanks Ash |

Its against Threes terms of service to put pay as you go unlimited internet in anything other then a phone or tether. What may happen is the system may detect it and block you using the simcard in the vita.

I put my 3-2-1 sim in a 3G mifi device and I had a message saying something like the sim is designed for phones only so please put the sim back in your phone.
Sure it would be the same for you. |

Sure it would be the same for you. They are very easily able to detect it when you put a phone SIM into a dongle/mifi that they sold, but detection in other devices is a bit hit and miss and seems to depend on what you're doing (e.g. iTunes can set it off) |

It can be overzealous. I kept getting tether-blocked by Three when merely browsing the Digital Spy Forums in Opera on my old phone with tethering turned off. Not an issue now on with me being on The One Plan.

I thought it was okay but others on here are saying different.
321 deal works out with you paying roughly the same or more for the same amount of data on MBB plans so a bit silly if they have a problem with this. |

Still not true.
Plenty of PAYG SIMs are allowed in non-handsets. |

Indeed you just have to find one that Three dont know its not a phone
![]() Other tip is to use a phone as a Personal Hotspot (Tethering). ,Thanks every one for reply's so far though i think my best bet is to actually top up see if it works and then report back, At the very worst it will give me a message saying cant be used in a none phone and ill just give the topped up sim to my cuz to use as she's wanting to join three PAYG anyway after been sick of vodafone for many months Ash |

Given your main worry seems to be your phone battery running low I'd say your best bet was a phone charger or a spare battery.

On a side note last night i tried my one plan sim in the vita and and it worked perfectly never got a block about using in a non phone or anything even revived a text on it which i didn't know the vita could do, So im guessing the 3-2-1 would also work fine going to have ti wait till next payday to try that out though xmas has skinted me a bit lol Bit off the topic of three but has anyone also ever tried an ovivo simcard in it as they give u 750meg a month free with just a purchase of the sim card Ash |

If you don't even use your phone on the bus and use the Vita instead how is a charger handyness of any issue? Leave it plugged in while in your pocket/bag since if you're not using it you can't possibly notice the charger cable coming out the side.
One Plan officially allows tethering so they're a bit less strict than with the PAYG 321 SIM apparently. |

Charger is ok for when at grandmas as that's what i currently do but not very handy when say EG on the bus, i use my vita on the bus on my way to work takes a hour and half each way so passes the time nicely, i cant use a spare bat as i have a nexus 5 and its non removable.

Runs on the O2 network and costs 20p for 20MB a day. Prices getting quite steep after 20MB in a single day though. Quote:
What I was trying to say is I want a sim in my vita so I don't have to tether my phone while on the bus because it saps the battery very quickly. I dont get your comment about having a cable though how exactly would I charge a phone in my pocket while on a bus

Ovivo are good but place adds whilst surfing, they use the Vodafone network though and it sounds like your sister hasn't had too much luck with them!

You can get portable charges. Battery packs that you charge at home and then can plug your phone into whilst on the move. Found out a friend has an ovivo mobile bb sim he uses in a dongle as a back up with a gig a month free its quite good for the sake of a few adds. he's going to fetch me it in a few days to give a try then if its fine will order one of those but will also Still give the three 321 sim a try. As well see what best option will be Ash |

Was it a 3 branded mifi?
They are very easily able to detect it when you put a phone SIM into a dongle/mifi that they sold, but detection in other devices is a bit hit and miss and seems to depend on what you're doing (e.g. iTunes can set it off) I have read elsewhere about them only blocking their own Mifi devices and although I have an un-locked EE 4G device here I never tried the 321 sim in that. I’ll give it ago now though.

It was bought un-locked but it was a 3 network one originally.

quick update have not tried a 321 sim yet but did try the ovivo sim and it works fine free 1 gig data every month allows me to do what i wanted to do and saves me flat lining my phones bat tethering lol.
I will get around to testing a 321 sim some time just to put the mystery to rest but that will be in a few week Ash |
