So ive had this Polaroid 32" LCD for about 9yrs(maybe more I can't remember it's been that long) but yesterday I noticed that all of a sudden there's about a 3 inch bezel all the way around the outside edge of the screen that's slightly brighter than the rest of the screen. It's more noticeable on black/dark scenes. But even on scenes that are not dark you can still see the outside is abit brighter/whiter than the rest of the screen.

I know even brand new tv's can have this issue but thing is mine was ok the other day, it's only today I noticed it, almost like it's came on all of a sudden, can it be caused by age/usage? I mean it's more than done it's time at 9+ years of use anyway. Is it just going to get worse and worse?

9 years is a long time for a television these days. You've been lucky.

Yeah it's been a good tv really, didn't expect much from a non branded tv but it has handled everything we've thrown at it.

Sounds like it's time to bite the bullet and spend some of your pennies on a new TV.

9 years is fabulous in this day and age for a piece of consumer electronics like a TV. The last few we've had have lasted no longer than 5 years, in one case (a Toshiba) lasted 13 months before the dreaded banding issue. Toshiba didn't want to know, claiming it wasn't a known problem even though websites suggested it was.

Good luck with the search for a replacement.
