I totally understand why Kevin and Susanna are the popular choice with the public but she really should be out first.

I would love a Natalie, Abbey, Sophie final, with Abbey triumphing.

Totally disagree, it apparently went perfectly all week and she just messed up on the night. A few weeks on she should be able to pull it off, although its risky it will pay off if she does it well.

Exactly. Her dances are looking very good and she is a better dancer than Sophie and much more entertaining and enjoyable to watch.

Why should she be first out on an entertainment show?

Seems clear to me from comments like these that this is not a dancing contest at all.

Current bettng odds indicate it is very close between Abbey and Susannah, so I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Susannah will win. I think Abbey has timed it perfectly, producing better dances each week for the last 3 weeks, and has been by far the biggest improver of the series. I sometimes wonder what show other people are watching - Susannah literally can't keep to the music for more than a few seconds, and Sophie is like cardboard. Only abbey and natalie produce dances that are anywhere near dancing!

Nope, and it never has been.

Why would they have a public vote in addition to judges' scores if it were purely a dancing competition?

You'd be right, and it never has been or was ever intended to be.

Quote:
““We needed to come up with a big Saturday night show and at a meeting we were discussing what hadn’t been tried,” Fenia Vardanis, who then worked as the BBC’s Entertainment Commissioner, remembers.

“Out of the blue, I said ‘ballroom dancing’.

“My vision was for an entertainment show first and foremost, with celebrities out of their comfort zone.””

I have the original press release from my journalism days I should cut and paste it to Wordpad document though, then I don't have to go rooting out for the press release each time!
