I got this game the other week, got flu and FINALLY got around to setting it up and playing it last night

I used to love Burnout 2 on the PS2 and the driving feels very much like that. GT is a bit TOO simulator for me so I am finding DriveClub to be a good fit.

I recorded this crash, check it out

It's not an amazing crash or anything its just the sheer number of things going on onscreen and how good everything looks

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFGgret1H9g

Make sure you set YouTube to 720p

Yeah see what you mean, Driveclub looks pure lush, I've played lots of single player stuff and everytime I return to the game each time I play I keep thinking how beautiful Driveclub looks, I'll drive past some trees with the sunlight beaming through, looks stunning at times. Definitely some of the best visuals I've seen this gen so far

Rumours of Japan being added as the new location have been floating around for ages, but a new promo pic showing a track littered with cherry blossom seems to confirm it.

http://t.co/qs8o4CTOqa

Hopefully there'll be a nice selection of high powered Japanese motors to go with it. (Easy on the drifting please Evo)

Sorry! I've been distracted by work and CBB.

I will go chose shortly. I already know which car - just need to pick a track.

Right. Challenge sent!

Thought I'd go with something a little different - so gone with a P2P with lots of straights and therefore lots of speeeeed, some pretty lighting and the f***ing Ariel Atom. I've already set a terrible time that I'm sure Lisa will beat first go with one hand tied behind her back while making tea.

If I've failed to invite anyone give me a bollocking if you're already on my friends list (subcutaneousphat) or send me a friend request if you're not. Also, if I've abviously missed anyone then (I think) others can forward the challenge too?

Yeah you can forward it onto whoever later on.

I like P2P races, there's so much scope for gaining and losing time on them. I'll get cracking on that over the weekend.

Yeah no bother.

You can join our challenges whenever you like but the cars are unlocked as you level up so there may be one or two challenges you can't participate in if you don't have the correct car.

Also be sure to add some people to your friends list if you want them to send you the challenges. And you'll have to join a club. We have some Digital Spy ones but you don't have to restrict yourself to those if you don't want to.

Either. You earn fame by racing and this goes towards your personal level, and also your club level. Some cars are unlocked by your own level and other cars are unlocked by your club level. But the easiest way is probably by doing the offline tour. You get fame by racing, but there is also accolades for, well everything and you get massive fame by completing them. They could be anything, from using a Volkswagon Golf so many times or by drifting a certain amount of times or by overtaking a certain amount of cars.

So by the time you finish the tour, you'll be well on your way to maxing out some of those accolades and you should have gained a nice few levels, which in turn should unlock a nice few cars for you.

Finally...all 225 stars from the tour completed.

That last Venom hot lap star was a pain in the rump.

Onto the dlc packs now

My 1st experience driving in the heavy snowfall at night on a track I don't know
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLUaDHdCv8c

I only uploaded that to send to some mates to show off the weather effects but figured I'd share my blind snow driving crapness here as well

And here's one of me actually driving well:
http://youtu.be/Eba1t0KHxoQ
Ended up been 301st best time on the global leaderboard but the 6th best time with that car.

You left the sunrise in though, didn't you?

It might look absolutely gorgeous, but it's ruddy annoying through the second sector.

Well it's a fairly straightish track so it seemed appropriate to mix it up a little bit and make the challenge slightly different from the usual technical bend-taking.

Don't get me wrong, I like it. It is enjoyably frustrating, if such a thing is possible!

That's nothing compared to the same event on the last race of the Elements DLC. You get one sighter lap and the remaining laps the snow is that heavy you can't see the track or anything, but black and snow, plus you've got the AI constantly on your ass as they have x-ray vision it seems.

That's a pity, I've been playing a fair bit this morning with no problems.

I'm still finding the servers are really hit and miss for loading challenges.
