Assuming £34.99 is the permanent price (which it should be!), then I'll just wait until I've tried out the free version. If I like it, I'll upgrade...simples!

Out of interest, why bother pre-ordering if there's "free" PS+ version to try out first. It might be a rubbish (but beautiful) game!
Yup - think I will do the same.

Really tempted by Shadow of Mordor, and am enjoying Destiny so much that the season pass is really tempting me, then there's GTA5 which I passed over on PS3, oh and Fry Cry 4 and Ass Creed. Insert "Stupid bloody releasing all the games at the same time moan" here.....

I've ordered it via PS-Plus do't think you can refuse for £34.99, Quick question though I pre-ordered last night and on my conformation it says about funds in my wallet, if I have entered my card details do I need to add to my wallet or will it just charge it to my card instead?

Hi guys. How do you 'pre-download'? Can you only do that if you buy the game now?

I'm waiting for the free demo - will that not be available to download till release? (I can't see an option to download it)

I read somewhere that the PS+ version can't be pre-downloaded. But since the 8th is a weekday, I'll just set it to download in the morning for before I go to work.

I doubt you will be able to do that, you cant for PS+ games as they come out during the day.

However you can download it whilst at work on the companion app.

For €40 I ordered the upgraded version. Won't get it cheaper than that.

And it's pre downloading I think.

I've not seen any confirmation that the PS+ Edition will be available on the 8th with the other PS+ games. You might have to wait until the 10th when the full version comes out.

Yeah, or that. That's how I typically download stuff to my PS4 when at work.

I've read the 8th of Oct in a few places. The following being one of them...

http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/...se-dates-page/

Code:
DriveClub (PS4 – Retail & PSN) – October 7 (NA), October 8 (EU) [BUY NOW]

DriveClub PlayStation Plus Edition (PS4 – PSN) – October 7 (NA), October 8 (EU)

The full version is definitely set for an October 10 release date. I only pre ordered earlier so I'm sure of that.

But I don't see any reason why we can't get the ps+ version on the 8th. It went gold ages ago.

That's odd, seems the disc version and full digital version is dated Oct 10th, but the PS+ and PS+ upgrade versions are Oct 8th. As best as I can tell.

How will people be playing first, single player or straight to multiplayer?

Probably multiplayer, this seems to be the games main focus.

Same as above. Create / Join a club and go mental on multiplayer.

Just driven a Mercedes in Norway and the experience was as as good as I hoped. We already know it looks amazing, but the handing was spot on for me. Just the right balance between sim and arcade. Easy to pick up and play but plenty of scope for honing your skills. All those comparisons to PGR are justified. I've no qualms with being a day one purchase.

I just noticed this in my preorder email. Does this mean that the trial version will be available a couple of days before the full upgrade is available?

DRIVECLUB™ PlayStation®Plus Edition Full Game Upgrade (Full Game)
Please make sure to top up your wallet before the pre-order expected release date: 09/10/2014 @ 11:00 PM

The timer on the library says 11 days but when I click on the game, it's says 9 days. Then when I click on the timer that says 9 days, it says 11 days!

Wow, who know

Maybe its to do with the different products. Because when i bought the upgrade i went to buy the non PS+ version and it said i couldn't, then i realised there were different products. It does sound like the PS+ version comes out a couple of days before the full game.

I know a couple of people at evo studios, might ask them. But they are pretty tight lipped about things.

I dont think it really has single player.
The main focus is MP but it does have a full SP career (Called Driveclub tour) which can be played completely offline.

There is a single player campaign however called DriveClub tour. You start the game and choose your car, earn rewards and new cars and access to new events as you play through it. It’s a good tournament structure – you start off in a regional series, then advance to a national series and international series.
There's also this:
http://canadianonlinegamers.com/feat...and-driveclub/
I was told that DriveClub’s single player campaign mode will last around 40 hours.

I'll be jumping into the SP stuff 1st to get a feel for the handling & everything, Then I'll probably jump in to see what the MP side is like. Thats pretty much what I always do with driving/racing games.

So I presume there's no campaign taste in the ps+ version ?

This would mean the are no campaign trophies given you can platinum the game from plus version.

A games journo on my friends list was playing this last night so I had a quick look at the trophies. There are tour trophies but they are all separated out, like dlc - so you can get plat without upgrading but not the 100%.

Looking forward to giving this a go. I am sure I will end up getting the upgrade, but want to check the handling etc. first.
