TV ad hitting screens next week.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSWD56dvYcE Not sure there's enough game footage, let alone gameplay. Might be enough to generate some interest amongst the masses though. |

That quote was taken from an article written back in May and was clearly aimed at Forza 5 rather than FH2.
No need to be so defensive. Anyone would think you felt threatened by Driveclub's potential. Haha not defensive, I just thought the advert was a bit desperate. I don't work for Turn 10 so here's no need for me to feel threatened but I would think Playground Games do..... about as much as Gordon Ramsey would if "Bob the hotdog man" pitched his stall outside the restaurant. ![]() Quote:
DriveClub easily blows Forza 5 out of the water and really shows what the consoles can do. Horizon 2 though is a different game entirely, which you yourself have told me. So i dont know why you come here trolling.
![]() ) which aren't limited to EU manufacturers, features laser scanned real life tracks, comprehensive upgrades and tuning for every car with a powerful custom livery editor. The physics (tyre, aero and suspension model) are built on 10 years worth of development in conjunction with Calspan and McLaren. Locked 60 FPS gameplay, up to 16 racers on track DriveClub simply doesn't have the credentials to beat Forza. From all of the footage I've seen some of it looks good, other parts not so much. Cars are not as detailed as FM5 (particularly the interiors) but are still high detail. I'm personally yet to see anything that rivals the audio/visual treat of driving an LFA at Nordschleife in FM5. FH2 is clearly the game that shows what the consoles can do? huge open world sandbox combined with the depth of a 'top of the line' sim, tonnes of cars, dynamic weather system, day/night cycle, varied track surface, 1080p with 4x MSAA, locked 30fps without a single torn or dropped frame with the most amazing motion blur techniques seen in any racer. Not bad.

I don't think DC was ever destined to be a Forza killer but we need it to be just as good, the PS4 needs a decent 'driving' game. We've waited a long time for this game so it needs to deliver. Perhaps it'll be Project CARS that set's the bar higher for this genre.
The downside to Project CARS though is that the 'next gen' console versions will be compared to the PC version with it being a multi-platform release. |

Yup, FH2 looks like a great game - the advert is cool too. Hope you enjoy it etc.
Back to DriveClub. Pleased to hear that the handling is good. If they can hit that sweet spot then I am in. I am unclear on how much of a single player campaign the game has. One of my favourite aspects of motorstorm was the AI, which was a great mix of aggression and mistakes. Hopefully they can achieve similar here. |

.I don't get why installs seem to be such a ball ache on Xbox One, when they're (thankfully) a breeze on PS4. Just whack a disc in and you're playing within seconds. |

Is there no damage in dc ? Watching a few streams tonight...and how come they've got the game ? And is a bit bumper cars at times. Also folk are spending a heck of a lot of time in menus rather than racing.
Also watched the crew and that seems too big and lonely. Looks a bit midnight club or gta. From those 2 is dc for me. Just need to see how project cars works out. Graphically looks good even on the poor streams though. |

There a LOT of menus, but the guys at Joystiq were just saying on their stream that they're surprisingly well laid out and easy to navigate. |

Yeah, there's damage. But it's purely cosmetic, so it won't affect handling or performance.

Might end up just watching a stream of this tongiht. Forza Horizon 2 is now stuck at 90%, when i could download Shadow of mordor a couple of days ago at the same size within an hour and a half. FH2 has taken 6 hours so far! With cancelling etc.
The worst experience i've ever had tbh from a console. |

That's crap too hear. I'm hoping there's not similar problems with everyone trying to download Driveclub on Tuesday. I'll be making sure mine is downloading as soon as it's available after midnight

Can I go online as an individual and join races of 8,16 or whatever it is or does it have to be a group/club ?

looking forward to playing this on Friday.
Even though its only £34.99 on the PS Store, i think I'm going to still keep my Amazon pre order for £44. I still prefer physical media. |
