Don't bother.

If the app is ever released this is definitely what it'll say when you load it:

"Sorry, we could not connect you to the Driveclub servers. Please try again later. Least we've made the app though. What more do you want?"

I'll probably check out the sprints and new elite levels at some point, but changing the 'default order of cars in the garage' isn't exactly going to get me running back to the game.

It's good they're still actively developing the game though.

For me the most updated game was burnout paradise. They practically changed the whole game for free before the Dlc kicked in.

Some Sprint mode videos I've uploaded -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06c8Bsorw6c
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSELApFpJmo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umd0tq9_ZmQ

It is addictive given how quickly you can rattle through the attempts, but I still wish they'd have spent the time on finally getting the eternally coming soon app and lobbies sorted.

I tried out the new sprint mode last night and quite enjoyed the short tracks. Its a nice addition to the game. It would be better for me if the 'continue' and 'restart' were switched after finishing a race though as I would like to just spam 'X' to get back to the next attempt as quickly as possible.

There's a post on the PS Blog that suggests Driveclub will be getting continuing support for another year yet.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/...for-driveclub/

"Fully customisable multiplayer lobbies, new difficulty options, more tracks, community events, extra photomode options, fine-tuning for drift mode, smarter notifications and many more developments are all incoming."

Another year... a tentative date for when they'll release the app and private lobbies.

With the way gaming is changing DriveClub amongst others raises the question should a game like DriveClub be updated and supported with DLC for years or should the developer be working on DriveClub 2 (Followed by 3, 4 ect) ? .

Seeing how the game has developed so far with it season pass and the PS+ edition I dont feel we actually need a DriveClub 2 if some way can be found to deliver the DLC packages on disc as well.

I don't think we'd need a sequel either but it's inevitable. The release of a brand new game will get more interest and sales than a game that's already been out for a couple of years.

A possible way would be to release drive club 2 as an expansion to the main game and a have a retail release for those who don't own drive club or prefer disc based games

That' could well be the way forward.

Evolution said a while ago that Driveclub was going to become a "service" - that's what we're seeing here.

If you're just on the PS+ version, you can upgrade to the full game, with season pass for £15.99

No brainier. Also it's been confirmed that private lobbies are definitely going to be available by the end of this year. Probably. Maybe.

That is a brilliant deal, I bought the full game for £19.99 and then bought the season pass for £19.99 and still thought it was a bargain for the sheer amount of content.

The season pass on it's own is £9.99 now. I think I'll have some of that

Yeah, it's just compatibly patch for a steering wheel. I played some of this a couple of days ago and it's still amazing but there's some stars I will never get now as my L2 button is ****ed & keeps sticking. I was wondering why my times were so slow & it's because the brake was always on slightly.

You can open it up and take the spring out, or squirt a bit of silicon lube (or I guess wd40) behind the button to return it's to not sticking state. Did it myself with R2, the silicon lube option, and been fine since.

Watched a video on removing the spring & it works fine now, snaps back into place without sticking 👍🏻

Does anyone know if face offs & leaderboards still work if you don't have PS+?

Not for a while. MGS 5 & Fallout 4 will keep me occupied for sometime & I won't be getting FIFA until Christmas so there's no point as won't be playing online until then. However, if 2 or 3 good games come out as part of the subscription, I may renew sooner
