Can I ask - Drive Club has some pretty bad reviews on Metacritic. I assume that given how popular this thread is though that there's some fans out there?

Granted, many will take the view that a lot of this should have been in the game from the start, and don't see it as good that it's taken so long to get where it is. I however, have had a great deal of fun out of it. I wish I had bought it digitally, as I doubt I'll ever trade it. (I generally trade my games once complete) I must have ploughed hundreds of hours into it by now. Most of it was probably up until July or August time, whenever it was we stopped doing our tournaments on here, but the recent release of the Bikes add-on, plus private lobbies this week has re-kindled my interest in it. imo - if someone likes racing games, looking at it now as a new purchase, it's probably the best value for money they'll get out of a PS4. |

The game had a disastrous launch. The online side of it was completely broken and the social side of the game is quite an important part. But it took a while and they fixed everything, and they look to supporting the game for another year at least. At one stage we had (I think) 6 Digital Spy clubs on the go, and more and more people joined the game throughout the year. As you can see from the amount of posts, it's a very popular game. You can get the game for £15 on the PlayStation Store and that includes the season pass so you get a buttload of content for the money. If you enjoy that you can but the Bikes expansion (which can actually be bought separately, without the cars part) for about £12. There's another season pass to be released soon, but we're not sure what's included in that. Most of the gun I've had in this game is with Digital Spy friends. We set up some championships earlier in the year. They'd run for maybe two months and then we'd do another one. We stopped them before the summer when interest seemed to be dying, but since the Bikes expansion launched last month, and the private lobbies last week, there's a lot of us back playing it and I'm hoping we might set up another championship soon again. If the game and expansion is still £15 then it's absolutely worth the money. |

The reviews/review scores would be wildly different if re-assessed on the game now, rather than as it was at launch.

Lisa set up this race the other night when she had control of the private lobby.
A nice relaxing drive. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iwANbTihUPE |

Watching it back it makes it look like there's loads of visibility in comparison to how much there really was at the time!

Am I right in saying this is £11.99 on the store right now?! Appears to be two versions, one at £11.99 and another at £14.99

Driveclub base game plus season pass is £15.99. Season pass quadruples the size of the main single player tour. Driveclub Bikes expansion is £11.99. This is for those that already have the base game. It is not included in the season pass, new content for the season pass stopped in the summer. Driveclub Bikes standalone is £15.99. This is for those that don't have the base game and just want to race bikes. |

Driveclub plus season pass for £15.99 is deal of the decade! So much content & such a great game. Anyone with a PS4 and has an interest in racers MUST own this. Simple as that.

Played this for the first time in a while yesterday - I'm very rusty, but it was great fun.
Looking forward to more matchmaking games with everyone on here, but I may need to level up to join some of the lobbies as I'm only lvl38 (Sorry I couldn't join you Iann34 and E5onAmp). Are people planning to run a lot of bike lobbies? I've not upgraded yet, so not sure how much I'll be missing out. |

Maybe I should host a lobby to find out, but given that at the moment the host always appears to be last on the grid, we're all quite happy letting Ian continue to host! Btw, I wasn't sure what value I'd get out of Bikes, but given we've got two packs incoming on top of the main tour, I'm quite happy with it now. I should be on tonight from about 8:30 or so, if anyone fancies some races - we could keep scores and have a tournament of sorts? |

This is something we've been battling with since the championships earlier in the year. Do we use all the cars and leave some people out, or do we just stick to the base game. We always try to be as inclusive as we can and not block people out but we might throw in the odd bike race or DLC race (but theyre only a couple of minutes each).

The host can change the vehicle between each race, and if a player doesn't have it, it lets them know. I don't think not having a vehicle or being a lower level will stop you from joining a lobby, unless maybe if they're currently in a race using a vehicle you don't have.

I got an invite from Ian to join his lobby last night, which I accepted but I just got the spinning circle for a minute or two before it dropped back to the game menu.
Not sure why I didn't connect, but I did try, wasn't being rude! |

It took a while for me to figure out how to join a private lobby the first night i tried it.
When you get an invitation, press Triangle to bring up the social menu in the top right hand corner. There two or three screen to this menu, one tells you who's online, another is notifications and you'll find the invite in there. Click on that and it should bring you to the lobby. |
