I'm pretty sure if Microsoft had given FH2 away for free to all XBOne owners or offer XBox Live subscribers a good discount on the digital copy, then we would have seen exactly the same thing hapen with those servers.
There is just an unprecidented amont of traffic cramming the servers on day one. | doubt any game could cope well on day one or two. Everyone got the game at 12am on day of release and so all started trying to play at the exact same time, and ten they kept on trying to play ever since. The initial strain on the servers hasn't died down, and unfortnately, we're going to have another few million people coming on board in the UK to make matters worse. All of them wanting to play from midnight tonight wth their pre ordered digital copies and all cramming the servers with traffic at the same time. Once real world use starts to happen, the load on the servers is going to settle down and the one off one on approach is going to work just fine as you are nto going to have several million owners all tunring on and off at the exact same time. They should have realeased in Europe first if we are considered the smaller territory and the server strain would have been a little bit easier (but we would still get the issue when the game released in the USA!!). This is unfortunate, but if we really think about it it was always going to happen with such a hyped up title being distributed in such a way. |

FH2 was plagued with disconnection errors and issues downloading content at launch. It certainly wasn't perfect.
The fact is people are just pissed as this game has been delayed and they feel entitled to have it working perfectly. It's a big shame for the game as it is set to be a great experience once it is working, it's just going to take a while to get past the launch day negativity. |

This is unfortunate, but if we really think about it it was always going to happen with such a hyped up title being distributed in such a way. This happened with Pure Pool, a small indie pool game and I can understand them having the problem. But this is a AAA studio and Sony knows the numbers. This comes across as Evolution / Sony been cheap and lazy and not wanting to put the proper infrastructure in place. I know in a week, things will have died down and we can then play normally. But after GTA, Destiny, the Sims and countless other online games, why is this still posing a problem ??? |

For Sony's sake, the long awaited firmware 2.0 would be well advised not to be a let-down to a pretty already disgruntled customer base.
Microsoft do seem to making some inroads into the PS4's lead. Partly due to themselves and to Sony's (what seems like) complacency. |

I was angry when I lost multiple characters in GTA Online and even ended up with a character I didn't really want but once the servers became stable all was forgotten. |

Every day that the PS4 continues to sell more (which it is) the gap is growing. The gap may well be growing at a slower rate, but it's growing all the same. But, there is a certain amount of unrest out there from a very vocal minority right now and Sony are in danger of losing credibility in the eyes of the mainstream. |

From a business point of view buying enough capacity for the initial load of players is a poor investment when you know you will only need half that capacity a week later. The fact people don't really care either means things don't really have to change.

Then maybe Sony should be telling most of the games company's that hosting must be done on Sony's own servers at least this way if a big new game release is coming out they can allocate more server resources to cover the launch period demand an then release the extra resources when no longer required.
Although this is what the MS cloud was meant to do and if the above posts are true they are still having some problems with new releases. |

Isn't this nice? A midnight launch but without the hassle that usually comes with it.
Just completed the first event in 3:19.553. Not a very good time I know, made numerous mistakes but at least held on for 1st. Unlocked two trophies already.

I can't play it! I pre ordered and keep getting the message saying only licence holders can use the application. I should be a licence holder as I pre ordered!
