Silver trophy "On The Podium" unlocked in just my second event. Something tells me this won't be the hardest game to 100%.
![]() First impressions are good. Handling nice, graphics excellent. Can't comment on the multiplayer element yet though, just facing AI at the moment. |

Can't disagree with what's been said, I like it. Played the first column of events and now off to bed. Couldn't get less than 3:05 on the first time trial one, just missed it by a baw hair.
Hopefully the servers will be up soon so can start earning XP as part of a club & unlock some cars & beat some scores. Does anyone know if the times/scores that show up during the races to beat are from people from your friends list or only your club? |

Couldn't resist and popped downstairs for a quick go.
Chile, 11:00am, overcast. Turned off the HUD and rear view mirror, played from the dash cam. I swear you could pass it off as real video footage. Exceptional stuff. Back to bed now. Can't wait to get my teeth into it properly tomorrow night. Have fun all. |

Another positive I've noted is the load screens seem minimal and don't take too long, unlike most racers I've played. |

Just had a quick go via PS Vita remote play from my bed before I head to work. Absolutely brilliant. Maybe it's the 30fps lock but there's no stuttering, no lag and it looks amazing. Flawless.

Gamespot hasn't been very kind with they're review. 2 and half. It says it has the one thing I hoped it wouldn't, poor AI. Which basically follows the racing line and even if you're there they just go straight into the back of you like you're not there. Have they got it wrong or is it about right?

So I took the plunge and I love it.
Had a quick go last night. Thought it was pretty cool that I got a notification whilst playing Destiny that DriveClub is now available to play. The handling is spot on for me. A touch heavier than a pure arcade racer, but consistent and with a good feel. I think they have used rumble really well, you get good feedback from the road. Plays really well on the pad . Graphics are stunning. The lighting is a-maz-ing. One of the early races is a day/night transition, with cats eyes etc., which is just brilliant. Another race has you going around a huge mountain, and the lighting change when you move from the shadow into the light is brilliant. A standout effect has been the shadows on the dashboard and windscreen when driving through trees - a great effect. The car models, cockpits and scenery are really strong. A real step up from last gen. Damage modelling is cosmetic - no impact on the handling. But the side windows do shatter, which is cool in cockpit view as it does restrict vision from the sides. You can flip the cars which is great. Crashing into another car does feel hefty, again with good use of rumble. I like that you are lose score if you hit another car or go off track, stopping that GT approach of braking by crashing into another car. I was impressed with the AI - aggressive with the player and each other. They do stick to the racing line in normal conditions, but will go for the overtake if a mistake is made. I had opportunity to take a couple of cars when they had come together after a failed pass. Reminded me of motorstorm, which is a good thing - slight worry is that in that series the AI was hyper aggressive in the later levels, hopefully it wont be so extreme here. Managed to get 3:02 on the time trial, which was a great event. Really good track design. They seem to colour code the corners with those road side flags: Green = full throttle if you are on the right line; Yellow = lift of and coast at the apex and you should be good; Red = you better break son! The ghost implementation was good on this event. The social aspect will add greatly to the overall experience, but it is a solid single player game. I will be interested to see how comprehensive the social aspect is. Hopefully you will get info from your whole friends list rather than just your club etc. Really pleased with it. |

A bit too easy ?
No challenge from ai ? And to address any concerns about the clubs. You have a player exp meter, and a club exp meter. You unlock some cars on your player career and others can only be unlocked on your club career. If you had this game and didn't join a club, you'd miss out on half the game. |

Maybe give it until next week and then see what review scores us gamers would give it. Interested to see how they compare to what the gaming sites and magazines have dished out.

Played from midnight last night until around 2am. I even got online at around 1am and had a few races, although they were difficult to connect to. Whilst online I tried to start a club, but that wouldn't work so assume we still can't do that yet.
Turned on again for a quick fix this morning and couldn't get online again to try and set up a club again. Racing seems challenging enough. Unlike Gran Tourismo, if you get into first place it's pretty tough to maintain the lead and the AI cars will challenge you right up until the village. I could see the AI sticking to the racing line at points in the race, but they certainly didn't stick to it the whole time and I certainly felt challenged by the AI cars on the track. Online was much less fun as you just had people shoting all over the bloody place and getting in your way screwing up the race for you!! I'm sure it's going to be much more fun online once we are able to get in to teams. But there is a huge single player tour to complete offline, so hardly missing out on the game whilst the servers get fix (in a way it's good as we all get a bit of practice before the servers get sorted. maybe that should be how this sort of game gets released in future. Release with a decent enough single player campaign to get the hang of things for a week and then make the servers active a week later). I'm looking forward to getting back home tonight and getting back in to the single player tour for now. |

I just can't get over the audacity of allowing you to buy the game but still doesn't I work, over giving us the demo. I just can't bring myself to pay it out of principle.

Maybe, with no online stuff it will just show up how small the Plus version single player campaign really is with just one country and a few cars. Having had the variety of the full version, I'm kind of glad I didn't just go with the Plus version as that would seem a bit baron!! |

But if you take that stance with Driveclub, couldn't you end up boycotting all online games because the online doesn't work. Which these days is nearly all games. You'd have nothing to play. |
