Why are people so sure it will come to plus? Was it announced?

The game has gone back to the drawing board according to Sony. A wiff of gt5 has just come through the door. Although that was last year, so I suppose it could arrive fairly soon'ish.

The PS4 does need another racer. I would have loved a shiny 1080p Wipeout about now... |

So this and watchdogs are gone to ****. What is going on with these developers? The ps4 is supposed to be easy to build games for.

Basically means it wasn't ready for launch so they've spent more time optimising it. Will it arrive with 1080p and 60fps? Who knows. Hope it does. As for watchdogs yes it would be disappointing if it lacks the graphical polish originally shown. But at least its 1080p

After reading about them going back to the "drawing board", my last bit of enthusiasm has died for DriveClub. They can take as long as they want now for all I care, Project Cars, you're mine !

Seems devs can't win, release sub standard game and then patch patch and try to patch again just like bf4 and we complain and say they should have waited until all the bugs had been removed before it was released. And when a company decides to hold back a game until it is 100% people still complain.

The maybe they should not have told us it was a Launch Title, it would have stopped people getting overhyped and then let down.

After these delays it had better be a fantastic game when it finally releases.

Surely the project managers need replacing if the completed time of a game is months after the projected time. No doubt this impacts the budgets. Saying developers cant win doesn't cut it for me. True if they release a buggy game, there's backlash; if they delay a game to fix these bugs there's a backlash. The other alternative is to keep to the project schedule and release a good game. If it was just a game every now and again like GTAV then they may be forgiven, but its happening more and more.

Getting rid of a project manager at a late stage of a project is almost certainly the most stupid thing any developer could do. The PM is the only person who knows what each team is doing and is therefore the only person who can coordinate those teams. If they were sacked then the new PM would take ages to get up to speed and no doubt the project would take a completely direction thus introducing even more delays. |

I guess the good news is that the graphics, sound, handling models etc were all pretty advanced at the time of the delay. They may have started over with the game's structure, but at least a significant proportion of the game is done, so hopefully the wait won't be too long.

I don't know if you have ever done any coding but I have, for nearly 40 years. Software development often slips. There's little you can do about it because coding is not a simple process. What may seem simple of paper often turns into some thing very complex because of a multitude of factors outside your control. You can try an mitigate the delays but you can never prevent them.

Oh I wasn't thinking about ditching the project manager at the late stage of the project but given how far they run over, maybe afterwards. All the delays / bug ridden games seems to be happening more recently, be it the neew hardware or whatever. And I know devs need time to get used to the new hardware and that but somebody has to be accountable for what will be seen as a waste of money with all the delays. As a pS4 gamer, there is little I can fault the console on, except for the lack of games, and releasing one or two a month is not good enough. I hate the idea of MGS: Ground Zeroes because its a short campaign and costing 30 quid for what is a long demo, but at least its a game and coming out soon. Ive got launch consoles before but Ive not seen a game drought like this before, or at least I dont remember it. Sorry Im just throwing my toys out of the pram on this issue, but its annoying me this week.

Hence the technical art director leaving last week to go solo. |

Update from the game's official Facebook page....
"We know you want news about DRIVECLUB. We are going to bring you up to speed with a full #DRIVECLUB update soon, because we are immensely proud of how the game is developing and we’re confident you’ll see why when we show you more. We are also really grateful for your ongoing support and enthusiasm. Your comments, tweets and emails are a huge source of motivation for the team and you keep us fired up and working hard to achieve our ambitions for the game. Expect an official release date, full game details and new videos in the weeks to come. We'll be here to take questions and to chat to you too, so share a message with us and keep following for more updates. We're looking forward to showing you more!" On Twitter, they said the info would be coming "in the weeks up to E3" so hopefully this is all happening sooner rather than later. There's even been speculation about a surprise launch during E3 itself, but I'm not getting my hopes up for that. |

I bet you had bugs in your Java code too. I also bet if you had longer on your project you could have made it better? Could it have also taken longer if you didn't know how to do something until you did it?

I'm sure it'll be worth the wait FF
![]() And technically it certainly looks the part already, with another 5 - 6 months of polishing time remaining. I'm VERY optimistic. |

Why do you say skint friends ?
They don't appear to be answering over the plus questions and just saying game available on disc |
