I'm really struggling with one event just before the semi pro cup. It's called Punching above your weight and you have to come first, get a lap time of less than 47 seconds and reach above 115mph. I've done the speed one but I can't get near first and I'm about 3 seconds a lap slower than the target time. The only you can choose is a Bentley so I can't even wait it out until I get a better car.

I'm stumped. Anyone else got past this or got stuck on it.

I'm thinking I might want this after all, but how does it all work? I get that the game has a single player mode and that's ok, but the real experience is in the club racing. I understand that a club can have 6 members, so how do those within a club interact, do you all have to be online and play together or can single members race on their own? If so, how does that contribute to the club as a whole? Basically, can you be part of a club and remain an individual?

In the DS clubs that are up and running, do you all have your mics on, talking and racing? Because I need to concentrate lol. Is this game purely a social experience, I don't mind contributing my driving skills but I cant be arsed been chummy with folk I don't know.

So if I got drive club would i experience everything the game has to offer without all that multiplayer bullshit that comes with so called social games?

I really want this game, I ain't talking bollocks, these are genuine concerns.

DS1 club is now up to level ten and moved quite a bit up the leader board now (in the 1900s). The whole team should have the Team Work silver trophy now too!!

The 100 use fame multiplier... Is this for 100 events or is it for 100 drifts/drafts/clean sections etc?

A couple of the events before semi pro tournament are quite hard & I can only get one star on them. I tried the semi pro tournament and could only finish third overall

On I got that the semi pro one done and am nearly at the next one, Pro or whatever it's called. It is getting really hard, trying to keep those fast cars on the road is a job in itself.

Hey. Well I can't answer all your questions as the game isn't fully online yet. We haven't managed to get racing club vs club yet so we don't know if someone talking over a mic is annoying yet. I can't really see it been necessary, it's not like I can help a fellow team member out.

At the minute we're all just levelling our clubs up (when the servers are online). We don't need to be together to do this. If I'm the only one online and I get 10,000 exp from a race, this goes towards levelling me up, and levelling the club up. When the servers are down, it's just me who gets it. So YA, you can be part of a club and just race away. (Racing offline or online gets you and your club experience).

So if you get DC, you can experience everything without having to make new friends. You kinda have to join a club but it isn't too social. Most of the social stuff so far happens here, where we just chat about the game. But the servers aren't entirely working yet so things could change when they start working.

I managed to do this just there before switching off. The only time I really applied the brake was on the second & final yellow corners. I just took foot of accelerator a bit hurtling through the green ones. On the last yellow corner, I kept tight to the inside of the corner.

Got disconnected before I got by all the screens so can't remember if points were added to club (level 11 now)

Denzil & I were playing at the same time (didn't know he was, wish there was an alert to say someone started playing the same game like the 360!) and we were both kicked from the servers at the same time because an update was made available and had to be downloaded to access the online part but it kept erroring for both of us.

There's a game update but it won't download and just errors. It won't let any of us use network features until we download the update though!!

You couldn't make it up, could you? My "experiences" with Driveclub today:

* Before work, trying to join DS 3 but not being able to due to server issues. Giving up and turning off Playstation.

* After work, trying to get on to play but not being able to properly due to the latest update refusing to download. Giving up in frustration and turning off Playstation.

A very unsatisfied gamer right here. I was willing to cut them some slack before, but this is getting ridiculous now.

Somehow I managed to get first place & 115mph the first race I tried but took me another 3 times to get the speed one. I missed it by 0.04 seconds at one point & was determined to get it before I turned off.

I've used that car in a few races so I'm used to how it handles. I didn't appear on the leaderboards for some reason but I got an overall of 3:19 something, the fastest I could see from on my friends list.

I noticed the top person was under 2 minutes, driving an Audi!!!!

Also, what sort of error message is "Cannot download." It could not be less helpful and adds to the annoyance. Almost suggests the problem could be at the user's end with their connection when that's clearly not the case.

A more honest message would be "Failed download (because we're f#####g useless)."

I joined DS3 last night from DS2, so we could get all the clubs active.

I still haven't been able to have a multiplayer race or session, but I had a decent time on the game last night. The connection kicked in after about 25 minutes of play time, and the leaderboards were working for the first time for me. Really enjoying some of the track designs....

I had the download error this morning. Switched off the PS4, unplugged, left for 10 seconds and plugged back in. Turned on, retried download and currently downloading, it's a 135mb download.

Thanks for joining. I agree about the tracks, some very clever designs that aren't too "unrealistic". Really enjoying the single player experience. I think the cars drive similar to the old BTCC games on ps2 and ps3.

Got online! (not mp though). Added 67k to DS3 (nice paintjob). Feels a bit better since the patch.

They must have just gone into a single player time trial because the event doesn't allow you to use an Audi.

I'll try it again later, I'll probably get pissed off with it. And keep on with the tour. Hope the servers are ok today.

Oh I maxed out an accolade yesterday. There is massive exp for doing that.

I think challenges are now working.

I was just driving away, minding my own business, and loads popped up on the track. They were kinda distracting as I was trying to do a good lap time and these threw me off.

I did a few races this morning (around 4am) and managed to keep connected for around 30/40 mins before being booted again. It seems I'm doing nothing to help DS1 level up but I struggle to get connected and stay connected most of the time. more frustrating is getting online, starting a race and then being disconnected before the race is finished. a total waste of XP

I joined a team called "Digital Spy 2" last night. Hope it was the correct team as i could only see one player in there, but read earlier that it was full up with 6 drivers. I joined anyway, my psn is jaffa-mad

Hope its the right one, if not i'll join "Digital Spy 3" if there isnt any space or if I have joined the wrong team.

I tried that and it didn't work for me. Someone on Gaf said that if you just keep retrying from the notification it eventually downloads - worked for me after about 13 tries so anyone still having problems give that a go.
