I got a lot of them in BF4 when it first launched but not had them for ages. This was the first time it happened with this game. Very frustrating though!

Only on a couple of occasions I've had to come back to a race when I'd unlocked a better car. It's mostly practice and getting to know the tracks. Is the punching above your weight race the one with a Bentley ?

Yeah yuffie in the dark. Very tight circuit.

I HATE dark circuits. HATE them.

Keep ploughing away at it. You'll nail it.

I dont particularly hate them. In fact one of the best effects is a cars headlights off the back of your car, if you have it on 3rd person view. Looks amazing.

Congrats.

The drifting is easy, how did you do on the venom one ?

I managed to get 2/3 stars, 6178, the first time tried it but never went back and tried again

You got 2 stars the first time you tried it

I'm sick to the teeth of it. It's my last bloody star.

Ok got up to 3rd on that Bentley challenge, so a bit better than 10th. I think I've been too soft on ai. You've really got to be hard on them it seems.
Server went offline so came off.

Still didn't get the 3rd star - 7,280. I know I can do it, it's just bringing it all together in the one run.”

Just got the 3rd star on that one myself.
8,045 and I only needed 7,300. This despite making a right meal of at least one of the drift segments.
The second corner is key, you can keep that one going for ages. If you score high there then you can get away with mediocre for the rest.

You have to be don't you?
Very difficult to be a "clean" racer on this game.

To be honest I prefer the events without AI. Even the drift events which were driving me mad before. But I've maxed out all of those now!!

Trying Venom Hot Lap for the first time after a few beers...

This could be interesting.

1:20 first time. Enough for one star. Yeah, about what I deserved for that attempt. Four seconds to find !!

Did it first time when I came back on. 76XX, getting 3000 in that big drift area helped. Went back and got the last star on the Spyker drift and now I'm working on the last star on the Maserati one. I'll only need 5 more stars after that, and they're all in the hyper events.

Edit: Maserati done, 10386.

Played for a hour and a half after completing the expert trophy, winning only 1 extra star in the process! (Got 3 stars in the Ferrari drift). For the life of me, I can't do the drifting to save myself Some of the time trial ones are pissing me off too, missing out by only a few 100ths of a second on a couple of them and missing out by miles on others.

Just switched off with DS1 just turned level 22. It took forever to go from 21-22

Got it down to 1:17.6 on Venom.

Still 1.6 secs to find.

Not sure I'm going to beat that tonight, but definitely doable. At least the car handles nice.

No idea where I'm supposed to find another half a second for the 3rd star in the Chungara challenge. Did see loads of human face off challenges in my first few go rounds, threw me off a bit. Had to give it up for another time in the end, the cat's eyes were doing my eyes in. It's no coincidence that 2 of the remaining 3 stars I need, involve night time.

Give over its a simple way to get more money out of you, if a game is good enough it doesn't need extras to extend its life. Just look at Ridge Racer, 20 years old, one track, plays like a dream and the Playstation disc still gets shoved in my PS3.

I've bought loads of DLC and season passes but that doesn't mean i think its a great idea, most of the time you buy it simply because your mates have etc. you don't want to be left behind. Its a pretty clever sales technique to be fair.

Sure, but creating more content requires resources so there's a balance to be found. If a game launches with the 'extra content' already on the disc, and is effectively behind a paywall then, yeah, that's shitty. But I'm quite happy with the content I got for £35 and happy that the new tracks and location aren't going to cost extra.

I found the key was to play quite dirty. Cut inside the Ai on corners and shunt them off their line if needs be - they have better performance but you have more heft. They'll always out perform you on the straights but thankfully that course has lots of little bends and kinks - those are where the opportunities lie.

Now have 12 stars to get, 8 are for drifting 😭

How have the servers been for the points adding to the club score?

I had a few drop outs at the end of each event when I last place, so although I got extra stars and fame points, the club got nothing again so lost out on several hundred thousand points again.

I've only got a few more solo tour events to complete, as well as the clean up. So I'm now wondering if I should hold back on playing this for a while until the servers are even more stable. Then again, I'll probably just want to race and get myself up to level 50 now!!

I remember how the developers added so much to burnout paradise for free those were great times.
