It's a known issue that sometimes drift scores are coming up as speed challenges.

Most racers have a technique that can be learnt especially for drifting, but there doesn't seem to be any in DC, if anybody has mastered the drifting in this game please post here. I think the drifting is like the servers, broken.
Basically go into a corner as wide as you can at decent speed (but probably not at full speed), as you take your finger off the gas and start turning into the corner tap/press* the handbrake button - this will kick the back end out. Then you need to quickly move into countersteering to stop yourself from spinning out - get it right and you can glide round a corner virtually sideways and rack up the fame points. It's a fine line though and some cars are more tricky than others to drift with (The Bentley continental, for instance, is like a tank and sticks to the road like glue so takes a much weightier press on the handbrake to set it into a drift) * When I say tap/press it depends on the handling and weight of the car. Some cars a quick tap will send it into drift city (Ariel Atom for instance) but most require more of a press than a tap. |

Incidentally I don't know if any of you guys have seen but the upcoming new location has been leaked - Japan.
Also a new track for Norway based on Atlantic Road which would look amazing! http://strangesounds.org/wp-content/...antic-Road.jpg Apparently they need to wait on getting permission from the Norwegian government to release it though... BTW If anyone is still looking for a club mine has a free spot. It's currently at level 18. Search for DAgnasti. PSN is subcutaneousphat. |

If you ever played any of the PGR games the drifting in this is very similar to those - much more so than something like Grid -probably why I'm pretty decent at the drifting in this as I played the hell out of PGR2 back in the day.

Thanks for advice. Will give it a go.
![]() If you still have problems take consolation in the thought that while writing that post and trying to explain it I had to sit here playing an imaginary game of Driveclub with my hands on an imaginary controller so I could try to put it into words

Good drifting advice up above but you can watch videos on YouTube of people who've done it and you might pick up some tips from that about how to enter a corner or whatever.

Could have some fun if there were private lobbies. Hope that comes. I quite enjoy the online anyway.
There's surely no way they can release dlc though until the main game is fully functional. |

I did see somewhere that apparently there will be effectively two months worth of DLC dropping towards the end of November, catching up on October's I guess. Presumably that's working on the assumption the online will be all sorted out by then Photo-mode is supposed to be included with it. |

I'm now on the Legendary races although I spend most of my time trying to get into the top 3 on the 'friends leaderboard'.

I'm one of the season pass 'mugs', although I didn't expect the launch of the game to be so bad nor for the trouble they seem to be having with the online side of it. It's been a total disaster for Sony and Evolution.

If they can sort out all the online stuff by the the end of this month (which seems to be the expected timeframe) and then start dropping some good DLC content they could bring a lot of people back in who gave up out of frustration. I think it will ultimately live or die on retention of players rather than necessarily sales. If it can keep me coming back to it despite the problems hopefully it can keep others too, and I'm not the outlier. I do think it would be wise on their part though to come up with some sort of compensatory good-will gesture for those who had already bought the season pass though. Making it completely free and refunding might be a bit of an ask, but maybe making it half-price and sticking a tenner in people's PSN wallets would be an idea. |
