I was reading over at ign about the microtransactions in this game, you can pay to buy cars earlier than levelling up and unlocking them. It's also only 30fps.
I'm less and less pushed about this game as time goes on. I think the ps+ version will do me fine. Driving around the USA sounds more interesting to me atm. |

I think they'll have a timesavers pack for those that don't want to play through the game to unlock all the cars.

See I don't like that kind of thing. Tough titties if people don't have time to unlock everything. I just hate microtransactions in general.
For example MMOs like EQ and SWTOR allow you to buy solo quality gear but group and raid gear have to be earned in game. |

They don't bother me as long as they're cosmetic items. But surely buying cars that others have to wait to unlock is getting an unfair advantage as I assume the best cars are unlocked at the end, but people can buy them from the start. Nope, don't like it.

I would of definitely bought this back in November if it had launched then but I think I will opt for The Crew as my go to racer later this year ! |

Def sounds like Sony simply weren't happy with slow cumbersome menus. That is basically all they spoke about that had to change. However while that team improved those they had time to refine other parts.

I've not got high hopes for this tbh. The art director left at the beginning of the year just as the first delay was announced.

I'm more inclined to agree with Sparky saying it was never nearly going to be ready for the ps4 release. And watchdogs is in the same boat, except that doesn't have microtransactions and might actually be good. They used these games to sell the console knowing they wouldn't be ready. You never overshoot a deadline by a year. |

Good blog post over on Dealspwn about Driveclub:
http://www.dealspwn.com/shambolic-dr...s-agogo-173318 The more I read, the less interested I am in buying this game. Shame, because I could do with a racer for my new PS4. |

The microtransactions seem to be just like the ones available in Battlefield (since Bad Company 2), the last 6 Need For Speed titles (starting from NFS: World 2010), Forza 5, GT6 and many more which are timesaver shortcuts, very different to the type of "potentially ongoing" microtransactions associated with F2P games.

Not sure if these are new or not, but Gamespot posted a few gameplay trailers for Driveclub yesterday. I really like the day/night transitions etc. I am interested to see how the full game shapes up here. It has been a while since I really got into a racer.

The YouTube videos really don't do this game justice. Go to Sony's own 1080p streams or, better still, track down a download and the difference is staggering.
It truly is an exceptionally good looking game. |

There was a pre-E3 preview event for the game recently with loads of positive vibes coming from it.
Q&A interview about the game, containing some nice new footage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sB3B7k7hbY Uninterrupted footage from Nilgiri Hills, one of the India tracks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tuk...ature=youtu.be |
