Pure fluke that time was Gillyallan!! Some times it all just comes together and other times you get that perfect start you wanted and then screw it up on an easy corner you've never had an issue with. I really don't know how the others get such good times as I'm at the top of my skill level.

I did notice the XP rewards were pretty good for this track, the shortness of it had t occurred to me. I just wish the two in our club who aren't playing would drop out so we can add some fresh players who want to contribute to Digital Spy 1. We're currently in the top 300 teams and that's with only three of us playing!! I reckons we would be in the top 200 by now if everyone was playing and contributing.

Less than 12 hours to go to post your best time people.

I found the entire lap lies in the first corner. Come out of that good, and you're in for a great lap.

Just to bring it forward:

Subcutaneousphat: Dec 4 - 6
Lisa_B: Dec 7 - 9
StormBringeR: Dec 10 - 12
A Homeless Jew: Dec 13 - 15
Little_Ifrit: Dec 16 - 18
Iann34: Dec 19 - 21
Claymore74: Dec 22 - 25

Yeah def 1st is crucial though I think the long turn at top of Hill is debatable. Seem to be able to take 3/4s of that around 80mph and drop for last 1/4 but can also be taken about same time with a drift. Wouldn't mind opinions on that corner.

Yeah I know what you mean. I've tried both drifting and braking/accelerating around it and I still don't have a definitive best way. I think in my best lap I braked/accelerated but I had a great start so I'm not sure how big of a part the long yellow corner played in the lap.

I'm no help, I know.

Take the last corner full tilt, don't stop accelerating just time your turn in earlier, just as you crest the small rise I think, and hit and hold right, you shouldn't drift if you've timed it right and by holding right all the way you shouldn't clip the left hand barrier at the end of the turn.

Hope that helps!

Yeah - I figured this out from following Lisa's ghost (thanks Lisa!) - it also makes a slight difference to the next lap as you cross the line over 120mph.

My only problem is doing it ! - every time I'm infront after 2 sectors I say to myself, "Don't stuff the last corner"... promptly followed by me doing exactly that and either having to lift off or chancing it and hitting the barrier.

I agree it's the first corner that makes the lap though - if you get a good line out you'll have a good second sector unless you really stuff the long turn at the top of the track. (which btw, I think is better not to drift )

Looking forward to chasing you round the track tonight Yuffie!

2nd tip is don't drift! If at all possible brake then accelerate, in a straight line if possible, is usually the fastest way.

I'm back in London briefly this evening so I'll post a challenge this evening. Hopefully I'll have enough time to have a bash at the current one too

I'm quite proud of my lap so if you beat me I'll be gutted.

I was on last night chasing Lisa's ghost round the track - didn't beat Lisa but improved to under 45s and decided that was pretty good and I could leave it at that - only to go out to the leaderboard to find that you'd improved and had beaten my new best time. Talk about being gutted.

I still think I can improve though - Lisa's ghost was actually behind mine all the way up to the last corner when she passed me, and that was when I was still lifting off at that corner. Whether I actually manage it or not though...

Well unless Lisa has improved her time, there's only a whisker between us so if you beat me then you'll probably beat her.

I was on a really good roll yesterday and was a shame I had to come off it as I though I could have done a bit better too.

Actually Claymore there was one lap I did and I thought I'd beaten you but the leaderboards wouldn't update after the lap so I didn't know where I was. But I went back to the game I seen your time was 45:015 and mine was 45:020. I was cursing the TV.

You can leave my ghost alone! I have improved by a couple of tenths. Did manage a 10.9 on the first sector of many merry go rounds, but binned it on the far wall of that uphill straight after the corners.

Yeah, I was on and did a 45:002 that didn't upload, I immediately went back on extremely annoyed and managed the 45:015 right from the start. Was well chuffed when I got it under 45 though.

And that video - excellent time for the first sector, I don't think I've managed to beat 11s.

Have to say, I'm loving this game at the moment.

Although I'm slower than most of you im totally impressed by just how fast I'm taking some of these sections. Its giving me an appreciation for likes of f1 divers doing this for real and just how close to the edge you have to be. We only have the annoyance of a few 100 points off our xp. They potentially lose the car or worse.....and yeah you don't really see them drifting so is all about that race line to speed radio.

The times on this one are ridiculous! It's so close. I just beat Yuffie & Claymore's time there, sorry chaps. I'm now .007 behind E5onAMP & .020 behind Lisa. Ian is still .4 ahead. If I can just perfect that long yellow corner, I'd be a contender this time

I think it's so close because it's a relatively short track.

Good choice!

I think the ghosts are playing up a little for me. Kept seeing denzils ghost in front of me at first section yet said I was minus xxx in front of him. Of course now I'm in front of him I don't have that worry lol

Definitely something not right with this. Earlier I got 45:284 and it wasn't showing as uploading so I caried on to try to at least match it. I just beat that with a 45:126 and its now uploaded the 284 score. Wtf.

Edit: ok now appearing on mine at least if someone can tell me what they are seeing for me.

Im done for night. I can now match top driver through first corners but just cannot get that corner right at top of Hill. Even my own ghost takes me there. ..sigh. I'm gonna be seeing this track in my sleep.

I can't really explain it well, but the way I do it is to sort of brake tight to the corner, keeping left and then coast round the apex a little and then get back on the accelerator.

Right. I'm back in London. I have less than an hour and a half to have a bash at the current challenge. Thanks for choosing a car I haven't driven before

I will post my challenge after if that's ok with everyone.

That's fine.

Oh, and enjoy the new car. It takes a while to get to grips with.

Whoa what the f*** is this car and why does it sound like being inside a jet plane? Is it electric?

I thought I'd at least not placed last on that final lap there but then Mickey_eyes sailed past me on the last straight, damn him!

One hour to do this.
