Christ on a bike Lisa, that's some time you set in our challenge.
I have you and E5 to thank for that, for showing me the 'alternative route' in that squiggly section.

I found out by accident that you don't get a penalty for doing it and it cuts so much time off the lap.

Hope we get the app back soon for this too. They seem to be slowly but surely getting there with the game.

I had a quick shot while waiting on a takeaway being delivered & moved up to third place but feel I could do better as I lost time on the very last corner before the home straight

OMTT, you're still showing as 5th on the leaderboards.

Does it show a different time? I've not done it in the time trial bit, I though we were doing it in the challenges bit now

Yeah just noticing the 2 don't seem to be linking. Guess under the new challenges is so you have identical circumstances. Under yuffie challenge im 1:35 but under time trial normal way I'm 1:31. I know what one I'm picking lol

I think the challenge updates the time trial but time trial doesn't update the challenge.

Your time is the same in both.

If you race using the challenge route, then your time will be posted o the leaderboards in the time trials. So your time shoes on both.

If you race using the time trial route, the leaderboards in time trials will change (as they always have) but your time won't be saved in the challenges.

So we need to pick one or the other and stick to it.

If we go to challenges route, we can set weather and time of day and get some extra fame points for where we place.

If we do it in time trials the way we always have, people can come or go without needing invites, and the ghost data is better as it shows the person next on the leaderboards and first place, whereas challenges only shows first place.

So there's pros and cons to both. But we need to pick a way and stick to it.

I hated the ghosts didn't show. If they could get that to work then challenges Would be the best route.

I guess we'll need to wait and see if weather will make a difference to times because if we set in time trials for a wet lap, there's no stopping someone from doing it in the sun & beating it.

Yeah. As we are, there's no point in setting a weather or time of day. There's no way to make sure everyone adheres to it.

Also if we go the challenges way, whoever sets the challenge needs to on at midnight-ish to make sure it's set for 3 days.

Anyone on Twitter should send a Tweet asking if they could implement ghosts for people directly in front of you, as well as the leader I the challenge, like they do in time trials. If more of us do it, it will hopefully bring it to their attention

If we go the challenge route, we can start/end at 9pm instead of midnight so those that go to bed early can have a shot before going instead of missing out on some hours with it starting when they're in bed. Easier to set up around that time too

Lol omtt.

I think the 9pm thing sounds ok. If we go the challenge route can we make it from next one then? If you look at normal leaderboards a lot more of us have only done it there. Plus those that done it via the challenge your score will be on the normal old leaderboards anyway.

The way I see it is the challenges are superb other than the ghosts situation. I love it takes you right to the event. No messing around trying to find the car and track.

As yuff says though we need everyone's opinion

I did that when I first attempted it. I thought it was odd it wasn't driving like a tank.

I think the challenges route might be best as you've got to nail the lap within that time frame and eventually if anyone's been doing as many community challenges as I have then we're all going to be filling up the single player events with times/scores. So you never know when someone might pick an event where you don't have to do any work as people might already have great times/scores for it. Whereas if it's set as a challenge then everyone starts at square one and you've got to get it done.
