I thought these new racing games were all open world, so there wouldn't be any map loading. Guess its just tracks still .

A list of some of the details being crammed into the game.

And an in-depth preview from Tech Radar.

Sounds amazing. Although don't think I'll be stopping to check out the plants

Going by my usual driving in game, I'll probably be in amongst them, so will let you know how they look.

No.

At least, I don't think so.

What gave you that idea?

footage I've seen has peoples names and pictures above their cars, i assumed this is because they are pushing the social aspect of the game.

I see.

It is a socially-connected racing game and you probably can link it with a Facebook account if you want, as you can with the PS4 itself. But equally, you should be able to play using just your PSN name and avatar if you so wish.

Same here. Or, if you join a club, any XP or whatever you get from playing the game on your own counts towards the club without always needing to play together.

No doubt a DS club will get created when the game launches...

The DS Driveclub ad:

Now, our operation is small but there is a lot of potential for ‘aggressive’ expansion. So which one of you fine gentlemen would like to join our team? Oh, there’s only one spot open right now so we’re gonna have…

[breaks pool cue over knee]

tryouts.

[throws broken pool cue at the applicants]

Make it fast.

I think this has been delayed too long. Its now up against The Crew which is looking a lot more interesting because of the scale of what they are trying to pull off. Both seem to be trying to do the same thing with their crews / clubs but the open world is more appealing to me.

More details are coming out about the weather system, to be added after release.

In Scotland clouds roll in, thicken and darken before the rain starts, forcing the 3D crown to reach for their umbrellas and raincoats.

Meanwhile in Norway, as the sun rises it starts to melt the snow in real time, leaving the roads wet.

Astonishing attention to detail.

Sony have revealed there will be a Driveclub / PS4 bundle to coincide with the release of the game.

Hopefully, that's an indication of their confidence in the game as a system seller. This could be epic.
