Do you reckon Simon will be returning next year since Gary is leaving?
Who else could replace Simon since Gary is going? There's this interview on a American show it seems like he's hinting he's leaving America Watch from 3.45 he seems like he's hinting he won't be there next year on X Factor USA so he won't be being interviewed on the show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0yA70ozigM Does it seem that way to anyone else like he's hinting he's leaving America? |

It does sound like it's over for X Factor over there after watching the interview. |

I f*****g cannot stand Simon and what he stands for, however he is classic with his one liners and makes me laugh. I do miss him despite what I have said.

That wouldn't be a bad panel in my opinion, though I just can't see Cheryl being back.

He's the only judge that people care what he thinks. That's why the show's been on the decline, nobody on the panel has anything interesting to say.

I heard the X Factor US can get a smaller budget if Simon isn't on the panel an he's going to sign a contract so it can still run just without him an the budget will be smaller.

The last episode rated 4.5 Million and came third in its timeslot. I don't think Fox will take a chance with it for a fourth year. The previous two years, they announced renewal in October. They have said nothing this year, which says a lot.
As for next year's panel they'll probably want to keep the other three from this year and just put Simon in Gary's place. If Sharon still insists on going I can see him sweet-talking Cheryl into returning so he can build up the Cheryl v Nicole rivalry in the press. |

They could always cut the budget completely and have it prop up the summer in the same way that NBC schedule America's Got Talent. They'd have to make wholesale changes for that to happen though.

I don't think Cheryl would be on the same panel as Nicole, she's never spoken very highly of her in the past and has insulted her singing and general kookiness. Nicole did replace her on XFUSA too.
I think they'd rather keep Cheryl over Nicole though, she's probably more of public interest to most people and is more well known here. If they're trying to restore the show to its 'former glory' which with XFUSA flopping they obviously are, I can see both Cheryl and Simon returning. If Cheryl is willing to come back, I'm sure Nicole would be fired, which I would be sad to see, especially since she is very hard working and shares genuine friendships with her contestants. Plus she can actually sing and is funnier and more charismatic than Cheryl IMO, but pretty much everyone else I know irl thinks Cheryl is charming and adorable. I don't see it but whatever. |

Is Nicole staying?
I thought she was leaving to bring out an album next year and work on another 'project.' I'd love for her to stay though, especially with Gary leaving. Tweedy is completely hopeless about singing and Simon and Louis only care about winning the show and making money from the acts. Nicole actually cares about the acts she works with.

All depends on whether XFUSA gets cancelled, and how it comes back if it's renewed. Surprisingly, right now the smart money is on it coming back on a small budget to fill space since Fox has a lot of other schedule problems. It could either go on (traditionally weak) Friday or be a concession of Thursday. The second question is whether it will be too cheap to afford Simon.
If XFUS is cancelled, I assume Simon goes back to XFUK and American Idol. I'd say 50/50 he's back to XFUK. 30% chance XFUS is cancelled, 20% chance renewed but he leaves. If he's off XFUS, 100% he goes back to XFUK. |

If the US show does get cancelled he probably will come back, so fingers crossed they keep the show, otherwise he'll be back with his sidekick Cheryl, he's already paid her a fortune after her well deserved sacking, so he would probably have to pay her double to come back and promise her the winning category. Not that she wouldn't jump at the chance, her 'singing', or should we say miming career isn't exactly blooming at the moment.

I personally always like to cheer a British success story, although I understand why many bitter, twisted, jealous people don't. |

What does he STAND for exactly?
I personally always like to cheer a British success story, although I understand why many bitter, twisted, jealous people don't. It's hardly bitter and twisted to feel he hasn't been entirely beneficial for the music industry over the last two decades. The ott attitudes on this website to opposing views really baffle me sometimes. |

Simon Cowell represents the elevation of cheap disposable music over any kind of artistry. Money is king, artistic content is a mere after thought, if that.

I hope he comes back, otherwise we're going to get Shane or Robbie and whilst they're nice guys they're not 'Head judge' material-

American Idol wouldn't take him back. They don't need to for the ratings, and even if they were struggling enough with the ratings to care, the ratings of US X Factor show that he isn't a ratings' magnate he's like to believe. Besides, he deliberately tried to ruin the last season of Idol he was on it to make room for US X Factor. It still remains the single worst season of American Idol to date, with the least commercially successful winner/runner-up in the history of the show. It is the only season of the show that didn't have at least one alumni get a certified album. One of the problems with X Factor US, if you read the various forums and blogs, is that Americans don't like all the emphasis on the judges, especially the bickering among them.
I actually really hope Simom comes back, he annoys me at times but at the end of the day is the only opinion people really seem to care about. I'm just glad Gary is gone. |

Simon Cowell is a business man. Plain and simple. If he is selling something that offends you so much don't buy it, don't watch his shows and don't support his artists. But seriously getting all uppetty because someone has done well for themselves is nothing short of pathetic.
As far as I'm aware I have never knowingly supported any of his artists, voted in any of his shows but yes I do still dip in and out of X Factor as a viewer from time to time, I am a mere mortal and have my failings. But I do think it's time for the X Factor to retreat quietly from our TV screens. Quite why he needs your bulldogish defence I'm not sure. |

I am merely pointing out that he is a business man and a very successful one at that and I just can't stand this British mentality of knocking someone who is successful. The same thing happened in the 80's with Stock, Aitken and Waterman. They had the last laugh though, as is Simon now. Good day! |
