Anybody brought one of these yet? Just wondering what these are like. Not a bad price for bluetooth.

Should be better than standard LCD TV speakers but don't expect much more, you get what you pay for with these kind of things.

Check it has the relevant connections if connecting to a tv/sky etc

Thanks for the links

I saw a Bush soundbar for the same price yesterday in B&M Stores. It had RCA phono sockets but I don't know if the Aldi one is RCA,HDMI or Optical.

I suspect almost anything will offer an improvement over the sound quality of most TVs, even some quite expensive ones.

I push my TV sound through a thirty year-old tuner amp and forty year-old Goodmans speakers, for the cost of a couple of RCA to Din plug leads.

Perfect.

I push my TV sound through a 1990s Phillips high fi connected to a Quadraphonic adapter from the 1970s which mixes the sound through a Hefler circuit to create a quad effect which opens up the sound using four speakers

Both the above post will sound excellent but its worth remembering that very few modern TV's have audio out in phono sockets its all ARC via the hdmi socket or at the worst optical . You might on some models be able to tap into a scart but again its getting rare for a scart to be (a) fitted and (b)be anything other than input only .

Why is optical "worse" than ARC HDMI? They both achieve the same thing, just you need additional cables if using optical?

Well yes they both give sound to the amp but there is so many instances of lip sync problems with optical which very rarely happen with arc over hdmi .

And HDMI can support higher fidelity standards like lossless Dolby and DTS from blu-ray, whereas optical can't support such high data rates.
