You all know about Amy's concealer.

This lame excuse again from Rebecca apologists? As was pointed out many times in the relevant thread, whether Rebecca "used" the concealer by one definition or another is beside the point. The point is that she was willing to use it and is hiding behind that technicality to pretend that she wanted nothing to do with contraband.

Ok...
Has all that really damaged her rep though?
Who is live on ITV now.
Becky
I think her personal rep is as good as her front crawl stroke rate rep was

It's ok for Rebecca because she is famous for achieving something extraordinary. She isn't just famous for the sake of being famous like Amy.

No she wasn't. It isn't a technicality - it shows that Rebecca was perfectly right, and that Amy knew it as soon as she said it.

Riiight. "I put my finger in it and I went, 'Oh thanks, babe, I appreciate it, but it's not really my colour.'"

Hardly. Amy: "You stand by what you said. I stand by what I said."

How does participating in an unrelated sport, make it okay to be seen in every reality show going? Regardless of achievements. (Hypothetical of course)

She deserves to be seen as a celebrity, you can not compare the likes of Rebecca to Amy.

Seriously, how many UK IAC contestants, ever, do you think would have turned down the chance to be on the Christmas Come Dine with Me and the Christmas Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Especially Millionaire, you know perfectly well they would all have loved to have done it.

It was so annoying that thanks to Vorderman prattling on and on (and Eamon earlier) Kian and Rebecca only had a short time to answer questions. I was only watching it for them!

And Eamon - seriously - I cannot believe he didn't know that brick question (especially as it was on Perfection earlier on in the day!)

Exactly;no comparison at all.

it's not me who has a problem with "celebs" who go from one show to the other;it's Just a few people seem to hurl the wannabe celeb tag at Amy; but it's okay for"perfect Addy.

I didn't see any of the shows you mentioned; but I have realised that the likes of "The chase" and "Tipping point" seem to have the same questions within the same week or two of each other.

Rebecca is famous though. She is a celebrity.

People who didn't watch 'I'm a celeb' will still know of Rebecca when she appears on these shows.

Yes, she should get some good publicity from people as long as they did not see her on "I'm a Celeb."

You seem to be inventing a whole scenario that doesn't exist. There is no reason to suppose that anyone, apart from about four people on here, thought she came over anything but likeable on IAC. Apart from brief speculation about why she wasn't allowed to do some trials (which stopped when she enthusisatically did a difficult trial) she didn't get any bad press. No one has publicly said anything critical of her. She got on well with all the other campmates apart from Amy. All the post-series references in the press have been favourable. So it looks as if she has emerged from the series with a modestly enhanced profile, which is now paying off in the form of nice little bits of media work.

Why? Has she turned into the Krays or something!

OK - so some people may have their doubts about the concealer thing (Would she have used it had it been her colour? Or was she just tactfully saying 'no') but in the end - its forgotten either way. Just as Amy's lying, manipulative and lazy behaviour is forgotten too!

It was after all - just a TV show for our entertainment - for which all participants got paid quite handsomely.

I'm afraid that lovely as Rebecca is, she does not have the personality or the charisma to maintain a media career. If she were to stick to commentating on swimming or a sports based media career, then there may be some hope but she really won't hack it in the normal media world.
Her expertise is in swimming and I'm afraid that because of her training schedule and lifestyle as an elite athlete, she seems to be very naive about the real world and also, pretty uninteresting.

Well she said it was sports commentating she was interested in, nothing more than that. I am not sure what you are thinking of; no one has suggested that she will replace Graham Norton.

A bit off topic, but I would like to see Kian doing some kind of action programme - scampering round the rim of a volcano, that kind of thing.

Rebecca is not that famous. Swimming is not that popular a sport. Yes she may be known among swimming fans and sports fans or at least some sports fans but that's as far as it goes. I'm sure she's a lot more known now that she appeared in IAC.

Rebecca got slated a lot on Twitter and many said she didn't like Amy because she was jealous of her.

stop trying to make out that she only got criticism on ds.

I can't for the life of me see what you are trying to prove. She is probably not that well known among people who have absolutely no interest in sport, but you could say that about almost anyone in any sport. As a double olympic gold winner and world record holder quite recently, she is a pretty big deal in the world of UK sport, which doesn't have that many olympic athletes to have achieved those things.

Yes, and Amy got 'slated a lot of Twitter' as well. Does that mean that 'her reputation is in tatters'? No, it just means that there was a bit of a spat on twitter, which affected no one and was not backed up by much in the way of press.

She achieved those before the 2012 Olympics but still participated.
