Gary Barlow has already mentioned he would like to work with her. I think something along the lines of Greatest Day and Rule the World could work very well with Sam.

I think this is a real opportunity for Syco, and the Record Industry as a whole to break this ageism notion. And show with the correct material, marketing and promotion an older artist can break into the industry at a later age and have a success.

Covers to me just won't work in this case, it is lazy to do that.

There is three songwriters who could be great for Sam Bailey - Diane Warren,, Sia, Ryan Tedder.

Diane Warren songs

I didn't know my own Strength - Whitney Houston

Because you Loved Me - Celine Dion

Silver Lining - Jessie J

SIA Songs

Cannonball - Lea Michelle

Blank Page - Christina Aguilera

Diamonds - Rihanna

Ryan Tedder Songs

Halo - Beyonce

Battlefield - Jordan Sparks

Turning Tables:- Adele

I believe that Mrs. O has already stated that Sams album will be original material so guessing is pointless.

Sia and Ryan Tedder aren't exactly cheap. Syco would have to make a real investment ...

But surely, labels have a billion unreleased songs lying around. They can give Sam whatever they have and release that album.

If the news reports that her album will be out for Mothers Day, then there is no way it will be original material and most likely consist of middle of the road covers. Maybe if it is a success she will be aloud to record original material, but at the moment it is purely speculation and wishfull thinking.

Ryan Tedder would be fantastic, as would Sia

Gary would do a good job too.

Adele would obviously be ideal... but I highly doubt she'd ever hand over a decent song, especially considering if the song suits Sam, it would probably suit her too. She'd just release it herself.

I imagine we'll be getting quite a ballad heavy album, so here are some of my suggestions based on that:

Martin Terefe who has co-written for, amongst others, James Morrison, Shane Filan and Englebert Humperdinck

DNA Songs, the Australian song-writing duo who work with the X Factor Australia winners, who have contributed songs for Geri Halliwell, The Saturdays and Dami Im

If they want to push her down a slightly more credible, less bombastic route, Guy Sigsworth would be my choice. Some of his credits include hits for Alison Moyet, Britney Spears and Josh Groban

Well according to The Sun, Syco wants to rush release Sam's album for Mother's day. That probably means she will be recording mostly covers.

Sam Bailey triumphant winner of last night's X Factor final has officially announced the title of her debut album.

Mothers Like Me will be released in time for Mother's Day 2014 and will contain Sam's unique take on standards like "My Heart Will Go On", "Mama" (a hit for the Spice Girls) and "Sailing".

The album will also include her potential Chart Topper "Skyscraper" and it's follow up, "A Life On The Ocean Waves".

Syco doesn't seem invested in Sam, so it looks like cheap Swedish songwriters is all she'll be getting.

Leona had Clive Davis and J Records pumping money into her album, Alexandra had Roc Nation and Epic US pumping money into her album. No such deal has been announced for Sam Bailey.

Best to leave humour to those who can do it, although kudos for not calling her a cruise ship singer (surely the most overused, least understood insult this year) outright.

I am yet to see evidence of Roc Nation and Epic US putting money into Alexandra's album. If you have evidence of that would love to see it

Here's the article announcing Alex's Epic deal back in 2009: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/cele...cord-deal.html

And here is the Billboard article on "Alexandra the Great" and Roc Nation's involvement in Overcome: http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=P...nation&f=false

Leona and Alexandra had big money deals for their debuts very early on. Maybe Sam Bailey will clinch something but I don't think it's likely.

Better to have "too much" according to some, than none at all. It's certainly worked in her favour.

she been really funny in her interviews all day, i think that is just a lazy thing people say for those they don't like. She seems to have a very warm personality. Anyways back to the main part of the thread SONGWRITERS!
