My thoughts exactly. I think we should also try and answer how many cups of tea RTD and SM had on those days, what was on the menu at the BBC Canteen, and oh what time the sunset as well.

Always intended to stay as long as RTD, originally this would have been the end of Series 4 but when RTD decided to do the Specials Tennant agreed to stay on. He almost changed his mind when Moffat asked him to do Series 5.

To be honest, forums being what they are, I'm surprised we haven't had any 'rumours' about PC leaving already!

We have, there's already been a rumour that PC is only doing one series!

But isn't Matt on record as saying he was staying on another year (as rumours of him raving we're building). They, weeks after, he announced he was leaving.

Of course Capaldi's signed up for one series -- Matt Smith did the same and his contract was renewed on a year-by-year basis.

Given that its been confirmed that series 6 wasn't automatically commissioned*, how could Matt sign up for something they didnt know was going to happen?

Besides, what of all the times Matt said "we take it a year at a time"? Of course nobody listens to him because they'll believe what they want, correct or no
