Manufacturers have been doing this for years.
What about cheese. same size package. Two years ago 500g = £2
last year 400g = £2 This year 350g = £2. All in the same size package.
Turkey steaks when I first started eating these they were 100g each. 4 for £1,over around 5 years they went down to 65g each for 4 for £1. of course the round package they were in got smaller. They have reduced the size again but because they would be so small they have now put them in a packet so you cannot see what you are buying!

Whatever works I guess. Seeing as taxing junk always gets bad press I guess selling less for the same price is the next best thing. I wonder how long before the fun size ones are 50p.

Is it an obesity thing, is it a shortage of cocoa beans, or are the chocolate manufacturers just greedy

They are doing that with everything. What about Greggs, they have just reduced the size of some of their items AND put up the price up at the same time. Surely it will get to a stage where they cannot reduce the size anymore as they will start to look stupid?.

Manufacturers face a choice, put the price up or decrease the size. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't.
