If you would not recommend it for a kid then who would you think it suitable for?

Far too slow and would annoy me. 4gb of space would not last five minutes.

The gadget show did a tablet review the other day and Alex Polosi (sp) downgraded the Kindle Fire as it didn't have as many apps as the Nexus. I think that was unfair as anyone who knows about tablets, will know that the Kindle has it's own store and Google play store can be side loaded. If they don't know, they probably aren't going to miss the Play store anyway.”

In fairness, as someone who likes to buy things and use them out of the box, rather than learning about side loading and rooting ect, I thought her review was fair. If the choice is between 2 very similar devices but one only has one camera, requires you to learn to side load basic apps and makes you pay extra to not be swamped with adverts then I wouldn't pick that one. Shops and websites don't always highlight the negative points of their items so honest reviews like that can be very useful.

People who know about Tablets and the differences between them aren't going to take notice of a Gadget Show review.

The Gadget Show is aimed at the mainstream public who will barely know what Android/iOS etc is let alone there being different stores only certain ones can get at.

I think it's worth while mentioning that in the review and marking it accordingly.

Earlier on in this thread, I mentioned Ideal World's irresponsible policy of selling cheap but relatively poor quality tablets. That's often reflected in their customer feedback comments where you get irate parents understandably complaining about how upset their children are because of the poor quality tablet that they just got for their birthday/Christmas.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend going any lower than a Tesco Hudl, Archos or Versus tablet.

There are some refurbished Versus tablets from £35 here http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-lis...on=refurbished

If people can scrape £70 together, Maplin have new Versus tablets http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/versus-tou...et-black-a63lk

Either of these would be better options, IMHO, but I'm prepared to be proved wrong if this tablet gets fantastic reviews.......

After watching this video, it actually doesn't appear as the rubbish I expected for £30. How long it will last for is anybody's guess

This device could be a good thing to claim having when the fake "Microsoft" scammers ring up from India.

Some people can't afford more than £30.

I love my gadgets and gizmo's, whether its i7 PC's and laptop or Cheap 10" android tablet and my Surface Pro, I'm a silver surfer geek and its one of my hobbies

The android tablet is fine as a media player and for basic browsing/youtube/email. Why did I buy it? For fun and I could afford it (and the Surface Pro). Does it 'do the job'? sure it does, its not fast and slick but if push came to shove I could get by on it and I'm sure others will manage just fine on the £30 tablet.

I've got a Hudl too

Where can you actually buy it ? Lots of stuff about it, but they don't tell you where to buy it.

Maybe the should consider not buying a tablet if that is all they can afford and prioritise more important things?

As it's only recently gone on sale on the UK, there is no large base of user reviews to look at, e.g. on Reevoo, etc. although there are some indications out there: http://forums.androidcentral.com/gen...wind-logo.html

Or maybe people have prioritised "more important things" and simply have a sum of money to spend on a tablet ?

You dont need to see reviews of it, I have a cheapo china tablet with the same cpu and amount of ram 512mb and it is a very frustrating experience even doing the simplest tasks such as browsing a website, what happens is even if you are patient person, you press a button nothing happens so you press it again and wait a few seconds then press a diffrent button and everything gets bogged down while it tries to execute all these queued commands and steam starts coming out of years, waste of money.

If they only have £30 to spend on a tablet they are better off not buying something so poor. Either save up and get a good one that will last or don't bother.

Perhaps they have done so already and find they have £30 to spare? Tens of thousands of Indian students are using these tablets with success who are we to look down on them (the tablets that is).

These £30 tablets will put a smile on a lot of faces, young and old.

Tattoos for poor people. Lol. My tatts cost more than most top end tablets / phones . Oh and I know of plenty high earners who purchase stuff from the shops you mention. And just to add I am posting this on a cheap HUAWEI phone.

Personally I really don't like tattoos on men or women although I admire some of the artwork and the skill involved in creating them. One of my (male) nurses spent thousands of pounds on tattoos and they were 'living art'; he did the right thing though in keeping his tattoos away from open sight when wearing uniform. The 'Walt Disney family' of cartoon characters on his back were stunning.

I'm a high earner and still shop in Lidl from time to time (good fruit and veg) and pick up the occasional bargain from Poundland.
