First series 8 filming around the corner?

Doctor Who Official ‏@bbcdoctorwho 2h

Peter Capaldi has just completed his first read through as the Doctor! A new era of #DoctorWho is coming, but first http://bbc.in/1c7fI4A

It's brilliant, not long now til we see him in costume too.

Some time in Jan is when they start filming, no idea if that will be location work (and thus a look at the costume) though.

Of course if they film Ep1 first he will probably be wearing Matt's costume for most of it.

I don't imagine they'll start filming until the new year, but I can't wait to see Capaldi's costume.

Speaking of Twelves costume.

'Curious as to what Twelve’s outfit will look like? Well, according to RadioTimes‘s source, it’ll be a “bit old fashioned” while still “looking to the future as well.” '

just hope we get a full 13 series and not this pretend one series in two halves and hope we don't have to wait 12 months before we see number 12

He'll be an 18th century fop with a metallic baseball cap?

First thing I thought of when I read your reply was Marty McFly Jr!

Well they can't give him the 'Boffin' university type clothing as Matt had that for two seasons, also out are the more uniform styles shown in the eighties when JNT's Doctor's 4,5,6 and 7 more or less had no overt changes to the costume at all.

So they might go for a speccy nerdy look, all bulging pockets and bits of string with apple cores.

Or a traditional Edwardian or Victorian Gentleman look, a bit like a Certain Mr Hartnell had.

The latter would be my favourite as I think he'd cane it!!!

Who knows, he might even be the first Doctor to sport Gallifreyan gowns as a matter of course.

What I really want to know is if he'll get a new Sonic Screwdriver?

Hope he keeps Matt's screwdriver tbh, no need to change it really.

I'm assuming we'll only see him in Matt's clothes at Christmas.

Even then it's most likely to be the Snowmen costume. (minus the waistcoat as the trailer has shown).

Another piece of unfounded guesswork by myself predicts that he'll be wearing some sort of cape.

I'm rooting for a modern sharp suit in navy blue with a black tee underneath - a little bit sinister. A more formal imagining of CE's Doctor.
No to any "fancy dress."

Is compling a good or a bad thing? Do actors often comple things?

The kids already hate Capaldi.

I fear DW will be cancelled in the next 12 months.

Series 8 will be the last full series.

Maybe a few Xmas specials one-offs after that, but no more series.

Disappointed in Matt Smith, he should have done maybe 10 years to get into the character and be remembered as THE Doctor.

Which kids are these? And what is your source for your statement that 'series 8 will be the last full series'.

As far as I can see the series has never been more popular, and Capaldi, so far, has had a mainly positive reaction amongst adults and 'kids' alike.

Without any back up evidence this is nothing but your opinion although you present it as fact, and frankly it's rather dopey, ill-informed and contradictory opinion at that.

I'm sure the exact same kids hated Smith until he actually first appeared on screen in character.

You cannot move from an opinion ("I fear DW will be cancelled") to fact ("Series 8 will be...) in such a short space of text. Unless there is a sharp drop in viewing figures (including iPlayer) and merchandise sales, or some tragic creative shortcoming, 'DW' will not be cancelled.

If Matt Smith stayed in the role for 10 years, he would have killed the show and his own career stone dead.

While I'm sure it's an innocent typo, it could be short for 'composition with samples', meaning he's remixed his first read through and set it to a kick-ass beat.

Should make an interesting extra on the DVD.
