That'll do for me. Wasn't fussed enough to vote for any off them but Natalie will get some from me now.

Do you drown kittens and stick pins in babies? Of that I'm not sure but if you ever did I'm sure you regret all the havoc and destruction you've created in the past; so for that reason I and a band of your loyal supporters will put the past in the past and forgive you everything just to see you dance so exquisitely.

I will put my money where my mouth is by dialing non stop on Saturday and I know your small army of like minded fans will be doing the same.

GOOD LUCK.”

I agree, the tide is definitely turning, with a couple of really positive threads for Natalie over the past few days.

Her supporters are standing together, shoulder to shoulder ready to make sure that at the worst, she will be in the Top Two.

If we all vote Nat can still claim the Glitter Ball she so deserves.

I agree, we stand shoulder to shoulder on supporting Natalie!

I think I have been feeling defeatist about the prospect of her winning, but we can only hope by voting we will effect the right result. So "Team Natalie" let's keep trying. Vote Natalie!

Definitely voting for her on Saturday she is the best dancer and deserves to win after all the criticism she has got throughout the competition

I have loved her dancing and she has been so natural and never false have been voting for her from the start.

She has really been slated on these threads so would love to see her win through.

Go Nartem I shall be voting none stop.

The mix of quickstep, tap and jive to Steppin' Out for the showdance sounds great! Can't wait. Come on Natalie!

it was a charity fundraiser for terminally ill children.

yes, i know it was really a ploy by the evil tories to misuse said terminally ill children to their own advantage by pretending to look charitable when they are not, and that the charity some how went along with being used in said such manner for their own cynical money making reasons...(etc etc etc)

but really, there are better ways to make a political point that by refusing to attend a charity function for terminally ill children and their families. imo of course.

Of course we are on the same side, we both have impeccable taste in SCD contestants!

I've been lurking this year but thought I'd join in the fun once more. Tis nice to be back!

This should be nothing to do with Strictly. Anyone (celeb or otherwise) can support their own charities in ther own way without it being foisted (is that a word?) on them by a tv programme.

And there are better ways to say you don't like Nat imo.

As a rather irate mother of a child who has benefited from the Starlight Foundation pointed out in the comments on the DM webpage, it's not just the terminally ill who can benefit from the charity's efforts, her own child having made a recovery. Starlight itself reports that 70% of the children it helps recover.

Neither was it a fundraiser. It was a Christmas party for 40 sick children and their families. A brief review of media reports reveals 21 celebrity attendees. Would that only 40 sick children had suffered because of government cuts or the child:staff ratio on children's wards was the same as the child:celeb ratio at the party.

Exactly. The hypocrisy of this government knows no bounds. Surely Cameron should show some sensitivity given his Son Euen's brief life. Sadly it would seem any situation can be used to make political brownie points.

Natalie making a political point shows she has true courage of her convictions and that she is no hypocrite.

This is much better! As I have said all along Natalie is the best dancer & deserves to win. If Suzanna Wins it is clearly rigged.

VOTE NATALIE!

Giving her kudos for sticking to her principals and not being hypocritical is all well and good but I would find her far more noble if she went against her political principles if it made just one poorly child's day.

I really didn't want to post anything negative in this thread and I do apologise but the issue had already been raised.

Sorry but no. An appearance by some celebrities who most children will not even know is just a publicity stunt by the Government. I am cross with the BBC for going along with the whole thing. The children would have benefitted just as much from a private do in any nice venue. Press coverage of the event was unnecessary as it was NOT a fund raiser. Now it is just another stick for those who do not like Natalie to beat her with. Thankfully she is enough of her own person to rise above such political machinations.

Natalie supports Kungfuture which helps vulnerable children in Columbia and Cambodia create their own futures.

whilst accusations against the government are one thing, the implicit aspersion that the charity were somehow complicit with this 'publicity stunt' for 'brownie points' is really in rather poor taste.

if you genuinely believe they have allowed their charity to be misused, or indeed are too stupid to prevent it, you should raise it with the charities commission, but its rather bizarre to see a scatter gun attack on anyone and anything in order to bolster up the ratings of a game show contestant.

Why was it held in Downing Street? Was that absolutely essential? Would a non publicised event have worked just as well? Were the children actually asked what they wanted, because I very much doubt it?

People never seem to ask the relevant questions, just see "disabled children" and go into aww mode?

It was not a fund raiser so would not have any issues with the Charities commission.
